Not a single post hyping up Katie Ledecky vs. Summer McIntosh in the 800 Free.

The two greatest female swimmers in the history of the sport in a rematch from last year's #1 race.

Ledecky vs. Summer in the 800 should've been marketed like a heavyweight title fight.

How about posting on social media beginning 90 days out?
How about running some ads on the internet?
How about emailing your members?
How about pushing out the race on as many platforms as possible?

Nobody (even hardcore swim nerds) knew that Katie Ledecky and Summer McIntosh were duking it out in the 800 Free last night.

But ya'll are out here talking about how the sport is confusing and we need to add the number of lengths to the scoreboard?

No - we need to let people know when the race is. And we need it to be super easy to watch.

You can't put it in an app that someone has to download. It needs to be 1 click viewing.

This meet should be running multiple cameras and live streams from the pool 24 hours a day. I'd set one up where athletes can go say anything live on the internet. I'd also provide feeds for anyone that wants to live stream their own commentary.

Swimming isn't confusing - it's a race. Fastest person wins. It's very simple.

But we have 0 promotion from the entire sport, from top to bottom.

The sponsor of the meet doesn't even post about it.
