Documenting the journey.
@defensivelove π
I left Mali Africa at 17 years old with one dream:
Earn a Division I basketball scholarship.
I left my family.
I left everything I knew.
I came to America with faith, hard work, and a basketball.
This account is my journey.
The goal isnβt just D1.
Itβs to inspire every kid!
A lot of actions for bigs are running away from the basket (into a pick and roll) and back towards the basket (rolling). This drill simulates that and the lights add some decision making through randomness!
@Alyto25
Donβt wait for the season to work on guarding pick and roll. This should be built into workouts and be done at least once a week!
Train how the game is played

You will hear us say this a lot but having this kind of dexterity, especially with their weak hand, is really important for big men
@DefensiveLove ππ
Also a good way to work on Hand-Eye coordination and complete ownership of your body in the paint
The warm up is super important for your players. We use bands to strengthen the hips and glutes as well as warm up all
the smaller muscles. Bands are the best way to get a get warm up. Get your players warmed up and ready to work!
Training is great but itβs incredibly important to be taught correctly
Notice how @Alyto25 is being taught by @DefensiveLove to catch the ball on two and shot fake multiple times on each possession
Watch any good big man and they are extremely patient
