I suspect AI enables domestic algo-finance (for a few outliers). The impossible things are now just very hard.
At the same time finance software jobs are pretty safe from AI, because the stakes are very high. You want to use AI a lot and triple check it; so you need more eng.
@levelsio I think the X's interests are not aligned with really getting rid of bots. Cause they make it look like there is a lot more engagement for advertisers to pay for
The only protection for software professionals going forward are:
- Financially hedge with some sort of call option on the semiconductors/datacenter industry
- Start a company and build a moat before someone else copies it in 2 hours (hard!)
- Get a unionised job
it’s now easier to start a software company than to get a job in one.
But everybody just got the same magic wand, so the value of the software company you start is also gradually going close to zero.
I think $GOOG is going to eat all AI, giving Gemini for free to 95% of users by leveraging efficient TPUs. Google can price out most competitors with its reach and efficiency.
The more AI consolidates, the more Google wins.
The more AI keeps changing, the more $NVDA wins.
@levelsio Funny how the digital nomad community somehow reached the conclusion we'd better live in small-stable-cordial-rural communities like our grandparents
If you follow the crumbs, it looks like Trump could soon try to create an international crisis, to then do a coup using security as excuse.
He cannot get reelected, he wants every company to bend the knee at Mar-a-Lago and provide support for the coming phase. He's all in.
@bootsiejones To watch these free market small government absolutists totally sell out the principles they’ve been lecturing everyone on for the past 20 years, and to do it on live TV, is just an amazing lesson in human nature.
Trump administration has put a 10 percent tariff on the Heard and McDonald Islands….
which has a population of 0 people and is inhabited only by penguins.
