Whether it is 216 v 42 or 75 v 4, Parliament has confirmed what we knew and expected all along- useless, anti-people and always ready to abuse its power. CAB 3 has been REJECTED by the people, it will remain REJECTED. We have 2 strategies: courts and PEOPLE POWER. We will win!

OPEN LETTER TO MAYOR JACOB MAFUME AND THE CITY OF HARARE
Three Zimbabweans are dead. @JMafume
Three lives have been lost in Budiriro after falling into a mud-filled sewer excavation site during sewer rehabilitation works. Families are mourning. Children have lost parents. Parents have lost children. Communities have lost their loved ones.
Yet while Harare residents battle overflowing sewage, broken roads, uncollected refuse, water shortages, and collapsing infrastructure, city leaders continue to act as if all is well.
Mayor Jacob Mafume, the people of Harare demand answers.
FACTS THE CITY CANNOT IGNORE
🔹 Three people died in Budiriro after falling into a sewer excavation site.
🔹 Harare residents have endured years of sewer bursts and raw sewage flowing through residential areas.
🔹 Waterborne diseases remain a constant threat because of failing sanitation infrastructure.
🔹 Billions have been collected from ratepayers, yet service delivery continues to deteriorate.
🔹 Roads, drainage systems, refuse collection, water supply, and sewer systems remain in crisis across many suburbs.
🔹 Citizens continue paying rates while basic services fail to meet acceptable standards.
QUESTIONS MAYOR MAFUME MUST ANSWER
1️⃣ Who was responsible for securing the excavation site where three people lost their lives?
2️⃣ Were proper safety measures, barriers, warning signs, and lighting installed?
3️⃣ Was the contractor compliant with public safety regulations?
4️⃣ Who will be held accountable for these deaths?
5️⃣ What compensation and support will be provided to the affected families?
6️⃣ Why has Harare’s sewer infrastructure continued to deteriorate under the current administration?
7️⃣ Where has ratepayers’ money been spent while residents live surrounded by sewage?
8️⃣ How many more deaths and disease outbreaks must occur before meaningful action is taken?
HARARE DESERVES BETTER
This is not about politics.
This is about accountability.
This is about governance.
This is about the dignity and safety of Harare residents.
A city where citizens risk death from open sewage trenches is a city facing a governance crisis.
The Mayor and City of Harare must provide a full public explanation, release the findings of any investigation, and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
Three people died. Zimbabwe deserves answers. Harare deserves better.
Regards

#BREAKING At around 2PM today, there was a knock on the front door of rights activist Youngerson Matete’s Harare home. He was away. A man handed his helper an envelope containing a chilling message: “Withdraw your application or [image of bullet]. Your choice.”
Matete is challenging President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s bid to extend his term to 2030 at the High Court.
He told ZimLive: “It's a tough moment, but I am not withdrawing my application.”
