India’s Cockroach movement threatens to restart protests after mass student arrests and if the government doesn't honor its reform commitments. https://t.co/3ny3Voq3OV
There can be no filthier type of man than one who defends rapists.
Pralhad Joshi is an insult to our education system and an insult to every student in it. Crores of young women study in the institutions he now oversees.
India’s women will never accept PM Modi’s new Education Minister.
🚨STATEMENT
We are deeply concerned by multiple reports reaching us of students and other protestors being targeted, detained, or arrested by various state agencies, particularly in Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar.
The Cockroach Janta Party had called off its nationwide protest only after the Government of India assured us that no punitive action would be taken against any protestor, either now or in the future, in any BJP-ruled or NDA-ruled states. The reports emerging from these states are therefore a matter of grave concern.
First, we wish to assure every protestor that our legal team is already coordinating with brilliant lawyers in the concerned states to secure the release of those detained and to extend all possible legal assistance. This has been happening from Day 1.
Second, we call upon the Government of India, particularly @JPNadda ji and @DrJitendraSingh ji, to immediately honour the assurance given to us by ensuring the release of those detained and by directing that no coercive or retaliatory action is taken against any protestor anywhere in the country. The FIRs registered ought to be withdrawn too.
The Government of India is also reminded of its commitment to furnish us the written guarantee in this regard by tomorrow, Tuesday, 28 July 2026.
Our decision to suspend the nationwide protest was taken in good faith and solely on the basis of the government’s assurance that it would stand by its word. Any departure from that assurance would not merely amount to a breach of trust with the Cockroach Janta Party but would also be a breach of public trust with lakhs of young Indians who chose dialogue over protests.
Such breach of trust will be completely unacceptable to the youth.
The Government of India is reminded that it derives credibility not from just making a promise, but from the promises they honour.
To the young protestors we say, hold on. We are with you. The CJP continues to closely monitor the situation and expects the Government of India and all BJP/NDA state governments to act with utmost urgency, responsibility, and good faith that the present circumstances demand. We demand that all detainees/arrestees be released immediately, and in any case by tomorrow, and that all FIRs be withdrawn immediately, failing which we shall take further necessary steps.

Statement
We condemn the illegal police crackdown against Junaid bhai by the UP Police. We’ve been in regular touch with him and providing all necessary help from day 1. We urge the @Uppolice to stop this illegal, arbitrary, inhumane crackdown against Junaid’s family and release them IMMEDIATELY.
Dear @DelhiPolice,
Do whatever you want to. You cannot stop people from coming to Jantar Mantar. You cannot stop people from having food. You cannot stop people from helping us.
Most importantly, you cannot stop Pradhan’s resignation. He is going.
🚨ALARMING!
The government wants to LAY SIEGE to Jantar Mantar!
It wants to restrict and stop food delivery, water delivery, sanitation facilities, medical treatment, power lines, and people’s movement to the site! How much lower will they stoop? But remember. It only strengthens the resolve of those who refuse to surrender.
We shall overcome!✊🏻

🇮🇳 🪳 The #Cockroach Janta Party began as a satirical youth movement just a few months ago, but has since emerged as a rallying point for disillusioned young people across #India.
So, what's driving the growing frustration and wave of protests?
Here's the story ⤵️
Hollywood actor #JohnCusack has become the first star from the West to publicly react to India's ongoing student protests. Sharing Arundhati Roy's words on X, he backed the student movement, saying, "They cannot beat these kids."

Delhi Police categorically denied that no pellet gun was used again protesting students.
Here Rahul Gandhi is showing the victim of a pellet gun from that day and he has almost lost vision from one eye due to it.
Delhi Police must be held responsible for it.
Abhijeet Dipke, who suggested on X that "all cockroaches come together," is the face of what is arguably India's biggest street protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government since he took office in 2014. https://t.co/tBAjttTYR2
Is this what we pay our taxes for, so that PM Modi and his ministers can use the Cabinet Meeting to talk about which social media apps to use?
Kuch kaam bhi kar lo we won’t have to come on the streets then
