It's almost a year since I started digging the big pond, now building a bridge and just starting to see my little woodland garden emerging from the sea of gravel it was 3 years ago. Value of occupation.
Attended a workshop run by two of my amazing cohort last week. Making sensory spiders! This is my calming sensory spider, an extremely informative and valuable session. @SunderlandOT
As an Introvert I'd like to pass on a positive post for anyone struggling with confidence as a student. I came to learn on my first Occupational Therapy placement that it was actually a positive in terms of my listening and problem solving skills, it was okay to be me! β€οΈ
Whenever I've felt low in self-confidence I think back to something an OT told me on my 1st placement. She said you don't need to be loud and extroverted to be a great OT - you just need to be able to communicate when you need to. It's so true! #OccupationalTherapy
First time helping to run an activity group as a Wellbeing Champion at the university, met some lovely people and got to put what I have learnt so far into practice. #sunderlandOT
What a beautiful day! Spent a good two hours in the garden getting it ready for Spring, cleaned out the dead leaves from the pond, then sat and had a coffee watching the birds. Feeling very relaxed.
