@vortex1x1x1x @liberal_jamie @SortaMillennial @DrNeilStone basically they do both, but then as the data comes in, if it’s shown that the vaccine is safe and effective, it’s considered unethical to continue to withhold the vaccine from the placebo group so they have to give it to them too. originally there is a placebo group tho

@PantsToTravel @DrNeilStone it’s considered unethical to continue with a placebo if the treatment is deemed effective. eg: cancer patients either given placebo or new drug. the new drug ends up curing the cancer. it is now unethical to withhold the drug from the placebo group since it could save their life

@IBchemmilam not incorrect, just not intuitive. so many teachers teach pH using vertical scales with “1” on top (like a list) while using terminology like “low pH” when speaking of the value on top, and “high pH” for the bottom value on the diagram. more confusing than it needs to be!
