This won't always result in long waiting lists - in Kildare for example 3 out 5 networks have suspended adult Dietetic service due to no dietitians

Adefunke Salawu, Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in St Mary’s Hospital, Phoenix Park presents 'Hip Fracture: Impact on functional mobility at 30 days, social support and rehabilitation outcomes.'

The aim of the project was to evaluate 30 days functional mobility status of patients following hip fracture​, e valuate their rehabilitation outcomes​, and evaluate social support needs post rehabilitation​. This was done by conducting a retrospective study of functional mobility status of patients admitted for rehabilitation. Findings showed that 82% of patients were still in the rehabilitation hospital​ after 30 days. Of 76 patients included, only 1 was recorded as independently mobile indoors, outdoors, and able to shop without a mobility aid on discharge. #HIPFEST2024
