Same people screaming “they broke the law!” about terrified Central American moms who committed a *misdemeanor* suddenly not so into “zero tolerance” where law-breaking is concerned.
Trump now claims he misspoke, that he meant to say he sees no reason it "wouldn't" be Russia when he meant "would" be Russia. He also meant to say he fired Comey over "rushing things" not "the Russia thing" and that Mexicans are "rap artists" not "rapists."
The Obama Administration did do something (though perhaps they could have done more). They launched a counter-intelligence investigation, headed by James Comey. You denounced the investigation and fired him. https://t.co/hLXEMCi5vd
I'm sorry, but my former Republican House colleagues are way, way off base here. All they continue to do is throw up distraction after distraction to keep the country from getting at the truth of exactly what Russia did and if any American conspired with Russia.
That's a shame.
Please do not make the mistake of assuming the government is interested in family reunification for any reason other than more efficient deportation.
The system the reunified families are facing is being reprogrammed into a deportation machine.
I fight these cases for a living.
Let’s be clear - tearing children away from their parents is but a logical extension of this administration’s immigration policy - a policy already steeped in cruelty and fueled by racism and demagoguery.
Say this with me now:
Seeking asylum is a human right.
Seeking asylum is a human right.
Seeking asylum is a human right.
Seeking asylum is a human right.
Seeking asylum is a human right.
Seeking asylum is a human right.
Seeking asylum is a human right.
Today in Puerto Rico
Nearly 9 months after Hurricane Maria
6,224 customers still do not have power; in many cases these are homes where more than one person lives
It may be two more months before they get it.
We’re going to tweet about this until the last customer has power
Hey Republicans, imagine if Barack Obama had said: "When I speak, I want my people to do what the North Korean people do. I want them to sit up and pay attention."
Let’s call this policy of indiscriminately separating children from their parents at the border exactly what it is: a human rights abuse being committed by the United States Government.
Congress has a moral obligation to take a stand and say that families should not be separated. Many of these families are fleeing terrible violence, traveling thousands of miles on foot to file an asylum claim and save their lives. To traumatize them further is unconscionable.
Today, we stand with the LGBTQ community and remember the 49 people who lost their lives in the horrific shooting at Pulse nightclub two years ago. Let’s honor them by demanding that Congress finally take action on gun violence to prevent these senseless tragedies.
1985, 1992, 1994, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016. And 2018.
Those are all the years North Korea said they would not pursue nukes or would denuclearize. They lied. Trump fans are cheering he got a cat to meow again. And he abandoned a key ally to do it.
I’m adamantly against Trump but hopeful for peace. The world is so unconventional but if it takes two ruthless dictators and a Dennis Rodman for everyone to get along, I’d take that over a devastating nuclear war. #TrumpKimSummit
This is abhorrent. The Administration is turning its back on victims of domestic violence and gang violence and further putting their lives at risk. https://t.co/EVEqElmOwU
