When a person is traumatized, it's not only the trauma they're healing from, but the number of times they weren't believed. It's being exposed to people who defend their perpetrator. It's being shamed for not letting it go. It's healing from the worlds response to vulnerability.
Autistic me: *makes a solid prediction based on previous experience and connecting dots*.
Someone: Don’t be so negative!
[My prediction comes to pass]
Someone: *either: acts like I never made a prediction; takes credit for it; or says the eventual outcome was ‘inevitable’*
My kid: Mommy I’m hungry!
Me: What about that plate of foods you specifically asked for that I made and is sitting right in front of you?

Autism is having specific items you need to keep with you to navigate you world …
AuDHD is perpetually losing said items no matter how critical they are … (and letting your critical electronics run out of power)
As an autistic teen/young adult, I used to think people were my friends if they were simply nice to me. Being used to hostility meant that I read too much into any kindness I received and ended up heartbroken when I learnt people I thought of as friends saw me as an acquaintance.
I was totally on board with men saying they were discriminated against in family court until I actually researched it and realized that yes mom's are favored for custody but men still win most cases when they ask for custody
Most the time they don't fight for it they just say ok
Autsitic Confession
Marble simulating cloth is one of the things that always demands my attention … it’s a need …
Like the works of Giovanni Strazza’s who’s veil looks like shear cloth but is in fact marble.
MM/DD/YYYY is how ppl talk. "On January 19th 2024" is normal speech. Who the hell says "On the 19th of January 2024"? Are you writing a letter to your wife from the Civil War? "My dearest Ernestine it is the 19th of January and each day my longing grows for you immensely"
