Democrats aren't mad about this. They aren't mad that it exists, that it was repaired, or that it is a beautiful landmark. They are frustrated that the bottom was painted blue... like a swimming pool. The original reflected just as well as this version. There was no need to pain the bottom. It was a waste of money, and the final bill submitted by one of Trump's friends who was hired to do the work was well over the quoted amount.

When you talk about fraud and waste and then you do things like this, it undermines the authenticity of the intent.

The monument is an US thing. Now it's a TRUMP thing.
