From intern to full-time meteorologist, my time at Channel 15 is coming to an end.
I've decided to turn my career away from TV weather- no more 2AM alarms for me! This will be my final weekend on the Morning Show ☀
((don't feel the need to bring up the bangs))
April 2026 has now been Wisconsin's most severe month since records of warnings began in 1986.
So far this month, at least 17 tornadoes have occurred, over 200 instances of large hail have been reported, and many neighborhoods have suffered significant damage. #wiwx
Widespread severe weather expected today. Storms begin during the mid-afternoon & reach max intensity from late afternoon into the evening. All severe weather hazards are possible. Have ways of receiving warning info & move to immediate shelter if one is issued for your area.
It's official — Wisconsin has a new

The @NCAR_Science is quite literally our global mothership.
Nearly everyone who researches climate and weather - not only in the US, but around the world - has passed through its doors and benefited from its incredible resources.
The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) supports the scientists who fly into hurricanes, the meteorologists who develop new radar technology, the physicists who envision and code new weather models, and yes - the largest community climate model in the world. That too.
Dismantling NCAR is like taking a sledgehammer to the keystone holding up our scientific understanding of the planet.

Storms on Aug. 9 created a 1,000-year event in southeast Wisconsin — but what does that mean?
It refers to the probability of an event of that size, not the frequency of its occurrence.
Notice how amounts that would constitute a 1,000-year rainfall vary across the state! #wiwx
The Milwaukee River reached an all-time record crest of 11.19ft at Estabrook Park. Debris was seen flowing down the river through downtown. The highest crest was 10.48ft on July 22nd, 2010.

Introducing a new series, NOAAstalgia: Picturing Our Past. Every other week, The NOAA Heritage Program will be sharing photos from NOAA's history.
In this week's photo, a young woman launches a pilot weather balloon. Women's first professional opportunities in meteorology occurred as a result of World War II. Women joined the Weather Bureau (the predecessor to today’s National Weather Service) as observers and forecasters to fill job vacancies. By 1945, more than 900 women were in the Bureau, with many offices made up almost entirely of women.

As of 9 AM, six Wisconsin cities are in the top 10 for worst air quality in the country, according to IQAir. Some places in northeast Wisconsin are reporting even worse conditions, with AQI levels over 200. #wiwx
So far, the National Weather Service in Milwaukee has found evidence of four tornadoes in Wisconsin during yesterday's storms (July 16). That preliminary count ties for the 8th-largest July outbreak in the state. #wiwx
