2 years ago today, the first person entered the RECOVERY trial.
Since then, together we have found 4 treatments that reduce mortality - results that have been adopted worldwide and saved countless lives.
Thank you to every one of those people who have made such a difference.
Our lovely team will be in our surgical assessment areas next week for the SNAP3 study.
We're looking for older surgery patients to help improve recovery practice.
Many hospitals are involved and it's hoped that 12000 patients can take part. @SNAPs_News https://t.co/B9kgtvlxY3
New RECOVERY result: Baricitinib
8156 patients randomly allocated to receive usual care plus baricitinib versus usual care alone.
28-day mortality lower in patients allocated baricitinib: 513/4148 (12%) vs 546/4008 (14%) (age-adjusted rate ratio 0.87; 95% CI 0.77-0.98; p=0.026)
@spspschool @royalhospital@ResearchatRoyal@StPeterStPaul_ The children are a real credit to the school. I know I’m biased but the nurses in my team had never had any dealings with SPSP before and were very complimentary about the children’s behaviour and amazed at the pertinent questions asked. They were a dream to teach ⭐️ thank you ⭐️
