#UWECMbaleLaunch
Today, Uganda has marked a historic milestone with the launch of the UWEC facility in Mbale, a major step in bringing wildlife conservation education closer to communities.
For years, conservation education was mainly accessed in Entebbe which required long-distance travel but today that barrier has been broken to allow local communities to directly engage in wildlife knowledge and environmental awareness.
Speaking at the launch, HRH Jude Mike Mudoma, Umukuka of Inzu ya Masaba, described the development as a turning point for Eastern Uganda that will create employment opportunities in areas such as conservation education, tour guiding, facility management, research assistance, community outreach, and hospitality services.

Had a great time engaging with the Tanzania Tourism Board( TTB) , Girls in Tourism ( @GITA_Africa ) , UTALI Hub, and other key stakeholders from Kenya, South Africa, and Tanzania yesterday morning.
It was inspiring to share ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration. These conversations reinforced the importance of working together to develop regional marketing strategies that showcase the diverse tourism experiences our countries offer.
By joining efforts, we can strengthen East and Southern Africa’s tourism brand, attract more international visitors, and create sustainable opportunities for businesses and communities across the region.
