If you're a follower of Periyar and doing this, you need a refresher course on Dravidan ideology.

Periyar urged women to "ditch sarees" and "cut their hair short (bobbed) and dress like men" if they pleased, to break society's shackles over how they dressed and achieve equality even in the way they dress.

Society doesn't dictate to men what to wear, why should it dictate to women?

It takes zero political courage to target a leader after they're gone. The very people mocking Kalaignar today were silent during his lifetime, hiding behind the deference their own party leaders showed him. These new breed of political cadres might win applause from abusive online crowds by trading personal jabs, but noise isn't leadership. When a party's entire strategy relies on cheap mockery instead of political substance, it doesn't just disrupt assembly decorum, it proves they have nothing meaningful to offer. TVK is all theater and zero substance. At least, that is what they have demonstrated so far. I also think @Udhaystalin has been handling them really well. It is surely not an easy job to handle a bunch of abusers.

Someone I know (TVK supporter. Ex-ADMK) recently asked me why I am still with DMK even though - his words - "they are never going to win against our Talcbaby actor". I told him I don't care - not "we will win again" - but I don't care.

I realised that I truly don't care if DMK wins another election or not. Yes, I am still grieving for this defeat. I mean when @arivalayam wins, I will be happy that my state and my kid's future will be in good hands in governance. But even if we don't win, I will be content to be with DMK's ideologies and follow the ideals of our leaders. DMK is first an ideological party before it's a political party. Most of us here will choose ideology even if it means defeat in election.

The more I read about Dravidian ideology, the anger I feel in my soul when I see inequality and injustice in this society, the happiness I see when one child gets ahead in life due to the welfare rights introduced by DMK right from the days of Justice Party - the more I know I am in the right place. And I will try my best to bring up my kids' in that ideology when their peers are running after an actor.

I am okay to be in the losing side when the losing side has written the most equitable and just pages in Tamilnadu and has written a new, better history for so many underprivileged families including mine.

That said, we will surely come back, again 🖤❤️
