This morning (02nd), I met with @AmbEricWalsh, the Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, at the Presidential Secretariat.

During our meeting, Mr. Walsh extended his warm congratulations to the new government and expressed appreciation for our commitment to combating corruption and ensuring a secure environment in the country.

He pointed out that corruption and insecurity are significant obstacles to attracting foreign investments. Furthermore, he expressed confidence that the proposed reforms would create a more conducive environment for international investments in Sri Lanka.

Additionally, Mr. Walsh assured me of the Canadian government's full support for Sri Lanka's engagement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the ongoing debt restructuring process.
