Former Ambassador of Pakistan to China & Mongolia, yet an eternal amb of 🇨🇳🇵🇰 friendship. Also served in Belgium, Canada, France, Sri Lanka, Turkey and USA.
Was pleased to meet H.E. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, and his delegation in Islamabad today. Had a most warm, cordial exchange of views on the current regional situation. We also discussed matters of mutual interest, including the further strengthening of Pakistan–Iran bilateral relations.
An important step forward in Pakistan’s space program and reflection of close China-Pakistan space cooperation. Our best wishes for Khurram and Zeeshan’s successful mission at China Space Station.
The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) announces a landmark advancement in Pakistan’s Manned Space Mission Program as two Astronaut Candidates, Khurram Daud and Muhammad Zeeshan Ali are set to depart for the People’s Republic of China to begin advanced astronaut training at the Astronaut Centre of China (ACC).
This is a significant step forward in Pakistan’s space exploration journey that positions the country in the community of a select group of nations actively engaged in human spaceflight programs. Under this collaboration, Pakistan is preparing for its first-ever participation in a mission to the China Space Station (CSS). The mission is currently planned for launch in late 2026, where a Pakistani astronaut will serve as a Payload Expert aboard the Shenzhen mission.
During mission aboard the ‘China Space Station (CSS)’, the Pakistani astronaut will conduct several scientific experiments in microgravity. These experiments span critical areas including material science, fluid physics, life/ bio science, and biotechnology, with potential applications for climate resilience, food security, and industrial innovation.
On the historical occasion, Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif commended the efforts of SUPARCO; a harbinger of deep space exploration. He also appreciated ironclad China-Pakistan brotherhood, yet another testimony of which is choosing Pakistan to be the first country for participation in Manned Space Mission.
Ambassador Ahmad Farooq met Ms Nelly Attar, first Arab woman from Saudi Arabia to climb K2. He appreciated her spirit and discussed ways of collaborating on sustainable mountain tourism.
Pleased to welcome Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Pakistan.
During our most cordial exchange, I reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to further strengthen our All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and underlined the central role of CPEC in driving our socio-economic progress and enhancing regional connectivity.
I look forward to participating in the upcoming SCO Council of Heads of State meeting in Tianjin and to my meeting with President Xi Jinping.
The friendship between Pakistan and China is all-weather, time-tested, and ironclad — a bond of trust and mutual respect that continues to serve as a pillar of peace, stability, and prosperity for our two peoples.

Replica of Fasting Buddha Gifted to Vietnam in Historic Ceremony at Bai Dinh Pagoda, Vietnam.
A meticulously crafted replica of the revered Fasting Buddha, an iconic Gandhara-era masterpiece dating back to the 2nd century, was formally handed over to Bai Dinh Pagoda, Vietnam’s largest Buddhist temple, by Ambassador of Pakistan, Kohdayar Marri, in a landmark event symbolizing cultural and spiritual solidarity between Pakistan and Vietnam.
The original Fasting Siddhartha statue, discovered in Sikri, Pakistan, and housed in Lahore Museum, depicts Prince Siddhartha’s profound austerity in pursuit of enlightenment. The replica, gifted by the Government of Pakistan, embodies values of discipline, resilience, and interfaith harmony.
The event commenced with sacred prayers led by the Secretary General of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, who blessed the statue at the Pakistani Embassy before its journey to Ninh Binh. At Bai Dinh Pagoda, the statue was received by Most Venerable Thich Minh Quang in a traditional Buddhist ritual, attended by senior Vietnamese officials, religious leaders, and dignitaries.
Ambassador Kohdayar Marri emphasised Pakistan’s commitment to preserving Buddhist heritage and fostering intercultural dialogue. “This gift reflects Pakistan’s rich heritage, respect for all faiths and our shared vision of peace. Tolerance and respect is the essence of Islam, and such exchanges reinforce diplomacy and harmony," he stated.
Venerable Thich Minh Quang hailed the gesture as a beacon of inter-religious goodwill, promoting mutual understanding between Pakistan and Vietnam. The ceremony concluded with prayers for enduring friendship between the two nations.

Pakistan Welcomes the Supplemental Award Announced by the Court of Arbitration
In a Supplemental Award announced on 27 June 2025, the Court of Arbitration hearing the Pakistan-India dispute over Kishenganga and Ratle hydroelectric projects has found that its competence remains intact, and that it has a continuing responsibility to advance these proceedings in a timely, efficient, and fair manner.
