Pleased to welcome 🇦🇹’s newly appointed Ambassador to Serbia, @ennodrofenik . We exchanged views on bilateral ties,Albania’s 🇪🇺integration, regional devel. & Serbia’s upcoming elections, including representation of the Albanian political factor.Looking fwd to continued coop.

📍 Luxembourg -- Another important milestone in getting closer to the European Union. 🇦🇱🇪🇺
I was very pleased to participate today at a meeting on the margins of the EU General Affairs Council, where a decision was taken to formally associate 🇦🇱 Albania, together with the other Western Balkan partners and enlargement countries, with the European Centre for Democratic Resilience.
This is an initiative we strongly advocated for, and today it becomes a reality.
#Albania has built valuable experience in responding to cyber-attacks and strengthening institutional resilience. We are ready to further develop this expertise and contribute it to our joint efforts with European partners.
At the same time, we are increasingly confronted with Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference - #FIMI, a challenge that has proven to be even more complex, adaptive and insidious. It targets not only systems, but trust; not only institutions, but the very foundations and the fabric of democratic debate.
I also underlined the need for a stronger and more coordinated public communication approach. A whole-of-society response can only succeed when society itself is informed, aware and engaged. When citizens across Europe see Member States and candidate countries working side by side to protect democratic resilience, they see enlargement for what it truly is: a shared investment in our common future.
For Albania, democratic resilience and #European accession are inseparable.
Today’s decision is another concrete expression of gradual integration in action: shared challenges, shared responses, shared responsibility, and a common contribution to a stronger, more resilient #Europe.

📍 Luksemburg -- Një tjetër moment i rëndësishëm në rrugëtimin tonë drejt Bashkimit Evropian. 🇦🇱🇪🇺
#Shqipëria2030
A passport was a path to safety; an open heart offered compassion; an open door provided protection and saved lives.
On the occasion of the visit of Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs presented to the Israeli delegation a selection of historical and archival documents bearing witness to the extraordinary role played by Albanians in protecting and saving Jews during the Holocaust.
The exhibition highlighted official correspondence, travel documents, and diplomatic records that tell a remarkable story of courage, solidarity, and humanity during one of history’s darkest chapters.
Ministers @HoxhaFer and @gidonsaar viewed archival documents recounting the efforts of Albanian officials and diplomats who assisted Jews fleeing Nazi persecution, both those living in Albania and many others who travelled there seeking refuge in a country that had become known as a sanctuary for Jews.
Behind every passport, visa, official letter, and carefully crafted disguise stood a human life and the hope of survival.
The Ministers also visited the “Tree of Remembrance”, planted on Holocaust Remembrance Day as a symbol of memory, responsibility, and friendship.
The olive tree carries messages from students of Tirana’s Sami Frashëri High School and Berlin’s Refik Veseli School.
From the courageous actions of those who, guided by BESA, the Albanian code of honnor, chose humanity over indifference and courage over fear, to the young people who keep their memory alive today, this legacy continues to resonate across borders and generations.
It remains a powerful foundation of the enduring friendship and partnership between Albania and Israel. 🇦🇱🇮🇱
It was a particular pleasure to welcome to Albania and meet with my counterpart, Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar @gidonsaar 🇦🇱🇮🇱
This year marks the 35th anniversary of Albania–Israel diplomatic relations, built on a profound and genuine friendship between our peoples, shared democratic values and mutual respect.
The unique and inspiring story of #Albanians who, at great personal risk, opened their homes and hearts and welcomed, sheltered, protected, and saved Jews during the Holocaust, guided by the enduring values of Besa and an unwavering commitment to human dignity, stands as a cornerstone of the deep friendship and partnership that unite Albania and Israel today.
Today, we reaffirmed our shared commitment, strong political will, and growing determination to further deepen our partnership. In this spirit, we signed the Albania-Israel Agreement on General Cooperation, an important milestone that opens new avenues for collaboration and elevates our bilateral relations to a new level.
The Agreement provides a comprehensive framework for enhanced cooperation across a wide range of fields, including security, technology and innovation, trade and investment, agriculture, culture and education, reflecting the breadth of our common interests and the significant potential of our partnership. It stands not only a testament to the strength of our relationship today, but also an investment in a future of closer cooperation, greater prosperity, and stronger ties between our two nations.
We also exchanged views on the #WesternBalkans, developments in the Middle East, and key global security issues, reaffirming our shared commitment to stability, dialogue, and international cooperation.
I reaffirmed Albania’s unwavering support for Israel’s security and our shared determination to combat terrorism, extremism, and antisemitism wherever they arise. At the same time, I underscored Albania’s firm commitment to peace, dialogue, and international cooperation as indispensable pillars of regional and global security.
Albania has been and will remain, a strong supporter of all efforts directed toward a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the Middle East. It is in this spirit that Albania joined the Board of Peace and has decided to to contribute concretly to international efforts, including through participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza.
The vitality of Albania-Israel relations is perhaps best demonstrated by the more than 100,000 Israeli visitors who chose Albania last year. Beyond being an impressive statistic, this is a powerful expression of the trust, friendship, and ever-deepening partnership that unite our two nations.

“If you have to ask what #jazz is, you'll never know.”
Louis Armstrong
Delighted to join the 🇬🇧 and 🇺🇦 Embassies in celebrating their joint Cultural Week, honouring two nations with rich histories, vibrant traditions, and a remarkable contribution to #European and global culture.
#Culture is far more than art, music, or literature. It is a universal language that transcends borders and differences, bringing people together through shared emotions, aspirations, and experiences.
Tonight's performance by Emma Smith and her band offered a wonderful taste of the best of #British jazz and a powerful reminder of culture's unique ability to build bridges and friendships.
A Serbian minister, while campaigning, promised his audience that "he would once again raise their flag" in Kosovo.
Such inflammatory language might be brushed aside as political posturing were it not for the very real danger of emboldening those prepared to act on it. We have seen this before, too many times. #Banjska, where full accountability remains outstanding, stands as a stark reminder of what can happen when words become actions.
#Albania remains firmly convinced that the only path forward, however difficult, lies in good neighbourly relations, regional cooperation, and genuine efforts to heal the wounds of the past and advance towards reconciliation.
But there can be no sustainable regional cooperation while realities are denied, the legitimacy of neighbours is questioned, or threatening rhetoric is used for political gain.
Building peace and trust takes time, often years, if not decades. It requires vision, courage, determination, and sustained commitment.
#Europe itself was built on recognition, dialogue, mutual respect, and solidarity, not on denial, intimidation, or nostalgia for the past.
In the #WesternBalkans, we know all too well where division, nationalism, and inflammatory rhetoric can lead. We cannot afford to forget those lessons, let alone repeat them.
The Republic of #Kosova is an irreversible reality. It is a sovereign, democratic state, an equal part of our region, and a country steadily consolidating its place in the European and international community. It is home to all its citizens, regardless of ethnicity, and its future must be one of peace, security, inclusion, and European integration.
Albania has stood by #Kosova and will continue to support it in every possible way.
We see this not only as a commitment rooted in our close bonds, but also as a strategic investment in our shared #European future and in the peace, security, and prosperity of the entire region.

Albania condemns in the strongest terms the latest deadly Houthi attack against the Kingdom of #Saudi Arabia.
The repeated attacks by the #Houthis, an #Iran proxy, pose a direct threat to regional stability, endanger civilian lives, and undermine efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
There can be no justification for attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure. Those responsible must be held accountable.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and express our full solidarity with the people and authorities of Saudi Arabia. 🇦🇱🇸🇦
The 10th Accession Conference with #Albania will take place on 13 October 2026.
Chapter 20 - Enterprise and Industrial Policy - will join the green section of the enlargement wall, marking another step forward in Albania’s EU accession process.
This will be the 3d Accession Conference with Albania this year.
Steady progress.
Concrete results.
Moving forward towards EU membership. 🇦🇱🇪🇺

A real pleasure meeting @Dalyahya, Secretary-General of the @dcorg , in Tirana today.
Thank you for an engaging exchange on Albania’s European path, international cooperation, and our progress and priorities in digital public services. We also discussed the opportunities and challenges ahead, as well as the important role of digitalisation in advancing Albania’s European integration and alignment with European standards.
As Albania advances towards DCO membership, we look forward to sharing our experience in digital public services and strengthening cooperation in this field.
Digital transformation is not only about technology, but also about connecting people, creating opportunities, and building a more inclusive, secure, and prosperous digital future. 🇦🇱🌍
📍Sofia -- I had a very good meeting with Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy, H.E. Iva Petrova, to explore how we can strengthen the energy dimension of #CorridorVIII and further deepen our bilateral and regional cooperation. 🇦🇱🇧🇬
Our discussions focused on expanding electricity interconnections, advancing regional energy market integration, accelerating the deployment of renewable energy and energy storage solutions, and building more resilient, secure and sustainable energy infrastructure across our region.
We also explored ways to take our partnership further through a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding and a concrete roadmap for joint initiatives in areas of shared interest.
#Albania remains fully committed to turning shared priorities into practical cooperation through flagship projects that strengthen energy security, reinforce regional connectivity and create tangible benefits for our citizens while contributing to a more resilient, secure and prosperous region.
📍Sofia -- I was pleased to participate today in the Conference on #CorridorVIII, organised by Bulgaria’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Velislava Petrova @vpetrova_mfa, following the Ministerial Meeting hosted by Albania, in Tirana, in February this year.
Today’s discussions reaffirmed a simple but important reality: geography becomes a strategic asset only when we are able to connect across it. In this regard, Corridor VIII is far more than a transport project. It is a strategic East-West gateway linking the Adriatic to the Black Sea, bringing together our economies, energy networks, security interests and our shared #European future.
Earlier this year in Tirana, we established a common political vision for this corridor. Today in Sofia, our focus was clear: translating political commitment into concrete delivery. The success of Corridor VIII will depend not on declarations, but on implementation.
For Albania, this means building one fully functional road, railway and energy corridor, not a series of disconnected national projects.
Corridor VIII is also a powerful #European project. It has the potential to make the benefits of European integration tangible long before accession. Better connectivity means more trade, lower transport costs, increased investment and stronger competitiveness. Most importantly, it brings our citizens, businesses and markets closer together.
But today, connectivity is inseparable from #security. The Adriatic, the Western Balkans and the Black Sea are parts of the same strategic space. Strengthening Corridor VIII also means strengthening the infrastructure, mobility and resilience that underpin our collective security, deterrence and defence.
As the Adriatic gateway of this corridor, #Albania attaches particular importance to advancing military mobility and promoting closer coordination between the European Union and #NATO on priority dual-use infrastructure.
The political consensus already exists. What is needed now is a clear pipeline of priority projects, realistic timelines, stronger coordination among governments, and a robust mechanism to monitor implementation.
Ultimately, Corridor VIII will be measured by the results we achieve together and, most importantly, by whether our citizens experience a region that is more connected, more resilient, more secure and more European.
Albania is not only committed; we have moved into the implementation phase. We will do our part to bring Corridor VIII from vision to reality.

Three years have passed since the horror of October 7. But we must all understand that, for the families whose loved ones were murdered by the butchers of Hamas, for those whose lives were torn apart, and for the survivors carrying wounds no eye can see, that morning has never truly ended.
Earlier this year, I stood at Nova. There are places where silence speaks louder than words, and Nova is one of them. Young people from many nations had gathered there to dance, to laugh, to celebrate life, and their lives were stolen by the darkness of hatred and terror.
In Albania, we have one word that contains an entire moral code: Besa. A promise that cannot be broken.
In Europe’s darkest hour, our grandparents kept that promise by sheltering Jews from the Holocaust, risking everything to save people marked for death.
Today, that inheritance demands something of us. It demands that memory never surrender to indifference, that grief never be abandoned to loneliness, that antisemitism never again be allowed to hide behind silence, slogans or excuses, and that we remain faithful to our friends even through their darkest hours.
To every mother, father, child and family mourning today:
May the memory of your loved ones be an eternal blessing🇦🇱🙏🇮🇱
A valuable discussion at the “Hybrid Threats in Albania” workshop, organised by AKSK in cooperation with Hybrid CoE, on disinformation, foreign interference and strengthening our resilience to hybrid threats.
As Albania advances towards EU membership, it is strengthening its capacities, institutional coordination, and cooperation with the EU, NATO, the Hybrid CoE, and our partners to prevent and address these threats. Our response must be grounded in information verification, coordination before communication, and close cooperation with our international partners. 🇦🇱🇪🇺
In the face of threats that know no borders, our resilience depends on our ability to act together.
Europe’s history is, in many ways, a history of enlargement. Its future will be written the same way: through enlargement that makes our continent stronger, more united, more secure and more prosperous.
#Enlargement is not only about candidate countries being ready to join. It is equally about the #European Union being ready to welcome them.
We welcome today’s European Commission Communication as an important step towards an EU that is prepared for its next chapter.
For Albania, enlargement is a shared strategic project that on one hand strengthens our democracy, transform our way of life and defines our future and, on the other, contributes to Europe’s security, competitiveness and democratic resilience.
#Albania is ready. Not only to join the European Union, but to help shape its future.
Ready to deliver on commitments and reforms; ready to embrace the gradual integration through concrete and impactful steps; ready for an ambituous yet realistic accession roadmap working closely with the Member States and the European Commission.
For a stronger #Europe at home. A stronger Europe in the world. 🇦🇱🇪🇺
#Albania2030 #StrongerTogether
Albania and Estonia enjoy excellent relations, anchored in shared European values, a strong partnership within #NATO, and a common vision of a stronger, more resilient and forward-looking Europe. As Albania advances at an accelerated pace on its path towards EU membership, Estonia remains a steadfast friend and a consistent supporter of our #European path.
I was pleased to reaffirm this spirit of partnership while welcoming H.E. Piret Urb, the newly accredited #Ambassador of Estonia to Albania. 🇦🇱🇪🇪
We will continue to strengthen our cooperation and translate the excellent political dialogue into even deeper practical collaboration, particularly in digital transformation, cybersecurity, innovation and e-governance, areas where Estonia's leadership and experience offer not only inspiration, but valuable expertise and tangible opportunities for partnership.
I wish Ambassador Urb every success in her tenure and look forward to working closely to further advance our shared priorities and deepen the friendship between #Albania and #Estonia, for the benefit of our countries, our citizens and our common European future. 🇦🇱🇪🇪🇪🇺
#Albania2030
A pleasure to participate in the 12th edition of the Tirana #ConnectivityForum, which for more than a decade has been an important platform for advancing discussions on connectivity, regional cooperation and the European future of the Western Balkans. 🇦🇱🇪🇺
My message today was clear: the time has come to move from words to deeds on EU #enlargement, guided by a credible and shared accession roadmap.
#Albania is doing its part. We are delivering, chapter by chapter, benchmark by benchmark, reform by reform, with the objective of concluding accession negotiations by 2027. Because reforms are not conditions imposed from outside; they are investments in a stronger, more democratic and more prosperous Albania. Long before they become EU benchmarks, reforms are milestones on our own path of development and modernisation.
This is why we strongly support the principle of #gradual integration, or, as I call it, "access before accession". Through phased participation in EU policies, the Single Market, common programmes and strategic projects, we can accelerate convergence while strengthening confidence in the enlargement process. This is not and canot be an alternative to membership, but a more credible and resilient pathway towards it, benefiting both candidate countries and the European Union.
Our region has travelled a remarkable path, from conflict to cooperation, from isolation to integration.
Only through a merit-based process we may earn our place in the European family and turn the #European perspective into a European future. 🇦🇱🇪🇺
