A former industrial site along the Someș River in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, is being transformed into a large-scale mixed-use district that reconnects the city with its waterfront. ✨I. M. Pei’s Luce Memorial Chapel is a masterclass in geometry, light, and spiritual minimalism. Located on the campus of Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan, the chapel was completed in 1963 and remains one of Pei’s most poetic works.
This new performing arts center is set to be constructed in Nashville. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and William Rawn Associates, the Tennessee Performing Arts Center will sit on the East Back of the Cumberland River and feature a theatre curtain-inspired facade that is designed to "welcome the community from all sides".
When it completes in 2030, the building will create a new home for the Nashville Ballet, Nashville Opera, and Nashville Repertory Theatre while creating a venue for traveling Broadway shows, dance performances, and community events.
Construction works are expected to start in 2027.
