जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया को केंद्र सरकार ने इस साल ₹411 करोड़ का बजट दिया है। अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी को भी ₹1214 करोड़ इस साल केंद्र से मिले हैं।

इन दोनों संस्थानों को एडमिशन और नौकरियों में SC, ST, OBC कोटा लागू करना चाहिए। जामिया में तो 2011 तक ये कोटा दिया जाता था।
