🌍 SVI Analysis |
“Pakistan’s May 1998 nuclear tests established a credible deterrent that restored strategic balance in South Asia and ended the era of conventional vulnerability.
Twenty-eight years later, this deterrent remains central to Pakistan’s security posture, as reaffirmed during the May 2025 India-Pakistan crisis, where escalation was effectively contained under the nuclear shadow.
Pakistan’s Full Spectrum Deterrence continues to deny India space for limited war or coercive military options, reinforcing stability at the conventional-nuclear interface.
These developments confirm that its nuclear capability remains a stabilising force that preserves deterrence and prevents large-scale conflict in the region.”

India is a state sponsor of terrorism — not just in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir or in Pakistan using the Afghan soil, but it is openly aiding, abetting and financing terrorism elsewhere. Extraterritorial assassinations — the international community is now well aware of it in North America, in Canada, in this country, the US. Everything is exposed.
And it talks of international law. It is in serious breach of the Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. It has seriously violated the Indus Waters Treaty by declaring that it is holding it in abeyance, without any reason, justification, and in complete defiance of the treaty's provisions and international law.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, claps back at the Indian representative during the UN Security Council meeting on situation in Afghanistan

🚀 Are hypersonic weapons really a game changer for South Asia?
You have probably heard that hypersonic weapons travel at more than five times the speed of sound and are much harder to track and intercept.
But here is the more interesting question:
Do they fundamentally change deterrence between India and Pakistan?
Some analysts argue that hypersonics could reduce warning time, increase uncertainty, and place greater pressure on decision-makers during a crisis.
Others point out that South Asia already operates under extremely short missile flight times and compressed decision windows.
So what is the real challenge?
In this episode of #OneMinuteProfessor, I unpack:
🚀 What makes hypersonic weapons different
🌎 Which major powers are developing or deploying them
🇮🇳 India's hypersonic ambitions and why they matter
⚖️ The debate over whether Pakistan should be concerned
🤖 How AI, advanced surveillance, missile defenses, and hypersonics may interact in the future
Because the debate is not really about speed.
It is about whether emerging technologies are shrinking the time available for judgment, communication, and crisis management.
In a region where minutes already matter, every second may become more important.

🇷🇺🤝🇵🇰Russia & Pakistan sign security cooperation agreement
The two countries have agreed to boost joint efforts against illegal migration & drug trafficking following talks between Ministers Kolokoltsev & Mohsin Naqvi in Bishkek
Why it matters:
🔸 For Russia: Cuts off drug routes from Afghanistan via Central Asia
🔸 For Pakistan: Secures the western border & regulates labor flows

"The deterrent imperative of FSD is to offset both India’s growing conventional and nuclear capabilities. Under such policy guidelines, Pakistan continues to produce effective countermeasures to retain a strategic balance in South Asia."

Pakistan's Rocket Force Commander Lt Gen Nauman Zakaria on India:
I'll share the first two words of the mission given to my army by the government of Pakistan: 'Deter war.'
The primary mission of the Pakistan military is to deter war.
We'll do what we have done always.
We did it last Feb 27, last year, for everybody to watch.
Pakistan is a major regional power and an important partner for the EU.
Today in Islamabad, I met with Prime Minister @CMShehbaz and Deputy PM and Foreign Minister @MIshaqDar50 for talks on further strengthening EU–Pakistan ties. I also met Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir in the Army HQ in Rawalpindi.
I commended Pakistan for its key role in facilitating US-Iran talks.
The EU is Pakistan's largest export destination and Pakistan is the world's leading beneficiary of EU trade preferences, the GSP+.
Lindsay Graham is anti-Iran, anti-ceasefire, anti-mediation, and anti-de-escalation process.
One wonders if he is anti-Trump administration as well.
He should read the official MoFA (Pakistan) statement, which clears everything up, so he should not worry much about it.
What he should worry about is how to take the US out of the war it was dragged into unnecessarily.
He should also be concerned about the dangers and risks of escalation and, at the same time, be thankful for Pakistan's timely and effective role in assisting both strong rivals in establishing and maintaining a ceasefire that no one in the region could have achieved.
Pakistan, being in a unique and strong position, is the only country in the system that has been sincerely engaged in promoting peace, stability, and broader efforts to end this war, which is fraught with dangerous escalation.
Arguably, Pakistan has played a significant role in preventing a WWIII.

India’s decade-long policy to isolate Pakistan has been hindered, leaving Modi's government facing domestic and international challenges as its strategic partnerships and influence encounter cooling ties.

From reckless actions in a nuclear region to global-range missile ambitions, India is setting a dangerous precedent. Expanding nuclear reach without restraint risks wider instability. Strategic responsibility is being abandoned.
