I have written about this as an article but it seemed not to had gathered the reach I was hoping for. So I am saying it again.

We're building Antenna (https://t.co/lB70tMvIje) with @0xViviennn on Hermes Agent — a social discovery tool for real-world ppl and events. Your agent uses GPS to find interesting ppl nearby, handles event sign-ups, and auto-matches attendees worth meeting at hackathons and meetups.

Halfway through, we hit a wall: Hermes has no external push capability. Users can talk to their agent, and the agent can reply — but external services have no way to proactively send messages to users.

Our backend detects someone wants to meet you, or your event application just got approved — but there's no way to push that to you in real time.

We tried every existing path:
- Cron polling: 60s minimum, not real-time
- Webhook platform: every notification goes through the LLM, burns tokens
- inject_message: only works in CLI mode, not in gateway

Our solution: add a /notify endpoint to the gateway.

Bypasses the LLM entirely. Zero tokens. Sub-second delivery. 137 lines, one new file, doesn't touch existing code.
