@daveatherton Fake ai.. The chicken leg comes from a plate with different food on it. Anyway chicken bones is a terrible thing to give a dog- splinters up. Dont do this in real life.
@REBELC0RK@corkcitycouncil Wish it was really that easy to powerwash it off- that add must have been water based paint. Takes a lot of careful scrubbing or it visibly damages the brick work. We have had to do it in our estate.

A report in todayโs Irish Daily Mail says online shoppers in Ireland ordering goods from outside the European Union will face a new โฌ3 Customs charge on each individual item worth โฌ150 or less from July 1, under new EU rules being implemented by Revenue. The changes are expected to make some online purchases more expensive and could alter how consumers shop online.
The report explains that there is currently no Customs duty on e commerce packages entering the EU where the goods, excluding delivery charges, are valued at โฌ150 or below. Under the new system, however, a flat โฌ3 Customs duty will apply to each separate item in a parcel.
An example is given of a package arriving from Asia containing a pen, a notebook and a keyring. Because these are regarded as three distinct items, the parcel would attract โฌ9 in Customs charges before VAT is added. With 23 per cent VAT applied, the total additional charge would rise to โฌ11.07. If a parcel contains identical items, they may be treated as a single item for charging purposes.
Revenue says the measure is designed to create a fairer system for Irish and EU businesses, which have argued that overseas sellers enjoy advantages under the current arrangements.
The report notes that consumers may end up paying the new charge in one of two ways. Some websites will collect the duty at checkout, showing customers the final price in advance with no extra delivery charges. Other retailers may not collect the fee up front, in which case postal operators or couriers could demand payment before the parcel is delivered. Revenue is advising shoppers to carefully read a websiteโs terms and conditions to understand how Customs charges will be applied.
The new regime will also affect returns. The โฌ3 Customs duty will generally be non refundable if a consumer returns an item, unless the goods are faulty. VAT refunds may vary depending on the retailerโs own policies and how they handle VAT liabilities, meaning shoppers could end up out of pocket even after returning goods.
Revenue is reminding consumers that there is no Customs duty on goods that are located in Ireland or elsewhere in the EU at the time they are ordered. However, the report warns that some websites may appear Irish or European because they use a .ie address or display prices in euro, while in reality shipping products from outside the EU. Consumers are being urged to check a retailerโs โAbout Usโ page, physical business address and shipping location before making a purchase.

Cool old mystery device brought in tonight to unravel its purpose: A 1930s electric shock therapy quack device. @TOG_Dublin are fans of things that quack, I suppose!

@TOG_Dublin Productive night- we figured out how to do fft on a cool old crt oscilloscope - repaired a 3d printer and 3d printed some prototypes. Also experimented with receipies for plantains..!
Did you know we used upcycled acrylic for this yearโs Tog Christmas decorations?
The acrylic started life as donated bookshelves in the space, now itโs a festive laser cut cheer. We also filled up the sheets with extra bits to cut down on waste. ๐ฆ

@kernelpacket@infosec_fox You can still do this in windows- right click / properties and tick the option to compress. It still works like a normal folder and there is an option to show these in colour. Especially useful for folders with thousands of files as it stops wasted slack space at end of files.
