The Washington Post article on Opioids: https://t.co/RZWgt1AFIT highlights the Sackler family's culpability in causing death to hundreds of thousands of families each year. In DC opioid deaths are DOUBLE the # of homicides. I am working with stakeholders and ANC's on solutions.

Invited to Mayor's Friday groundbreaking at Kenilworth 166. Can't be there, I'm hosting a meeting on opioids. But...48 "affordable" units @50% AMI? Most of Ward7 or 8 can't even afford THAT! Family incomes have only risen 10% (W7) and 12% (W8) in last 20 YEARS! Ward 6 & 2- 325%!

Testified today about opioids and the need for a healthcare workforce for Ward 7 & 8 residents. There will be 13,000 healthcare jobs needed over the next 5 years--in long term care, home health aides and certified nursing assistants. Apprenticeships can start in high school.
