Reality?

Govts that surrender to dominant caste demands and play the reservation card have more often paid crusing defeat.

If not anything, increasing reservation is a bad omen.

Just look at the list below:

-In 1990, VP Singh implemented 27% for OBCs who are considered to be the biggest voting bloc. In the 1991 elections, Janata Dal, VP Singh's party got decimated and got just 59 seats compated to the 143 seats it won in 1989. VP Singh's political career got finished

-In 1994, Tamil Nadu Govt under Jayalalitha forced Congress govt to bring the 76th constitution amendment for 69% quota. In the 1996 elections, Jayalalitha's ADMK got just 4 out of 234 seats. She herself lost her MLA seat. Congress party which brought the amendment lost power in the centre

-On 2nd March 2014 , just 3 days prior to the model code of conduct for 2014 elections came into effect, Congress led UPA govt included Jats in the Central OBC list. Congress got it's lowest every tally of 44 seats. Congress was wiped out even in the Jat dominated areas - 1 seat in Haryana, 0 seat in Delhi, 0 seat in Western UP, 0 seat in Rajasthan

-On 9th July 2014, just 3 months before the Maharashtra assembly elections, Congress govt gave 16% reservation to Maratha community and 5% reservation to muslims. Both these groups (Marathas + Muslims) put together constiute over 40% of State population.
But Congress party got decimated in the 2014 assembly elections, got relegated to 3rd position, reduced to just 42 seats in the assembly of 288 seats

-On February 13, 2019, just 3 weeks prior to the 2019 assembly elections, Rajasthan Congress govt under Ashok Ghelot provided 5% reservation to Gujjar and 4 other communities. Congress got wiped out with 0 seats in the 2019 elections

-On 8th March 2019, just 3 days prior to the model code of conduct for 2014 elections came into effect, MP Congress govt under Kamal Nath increased the reservation to 73%. Congress Party got decimated in 2019 elections winning just 1 seat

-On 26th February 2021, just hours before the model code of conduct came for 2021 assembly elections, Tamil Nadu govt under AIADMK gave 10.5% quota exclusively for the Vanniar Community which is supposed to be the largest case in Tamil Nadu with 20% share in population. AIADMK lost the elections badly and never won even a coroparation election aftet this decision.

-In January 2023, just 3 months before the assembly elections, BJP govt increased SC,ST reservation in Karnataka but lost the power badly in the elections

-On 20th February 2024, just 3 weeks prior to model code of conduct ame for 2024 elections, BJP govt in Maharashtra gave 10% quota to Marathas defying SC judgement. Maratha community is supposed to constitute 25-30% of the State's population. BJP faced a humiliating defeat in 2024 elections and got reduced to just 9 seats from the earlier 23 seats
