During that same period, Fermín emerged, performed brilliantly, developed, and eventually became a big star.

Lamine Yamal and Cubarsí came through after him. They developed, became undisputed starters, established themselves as world-class talents, and went on to become global superstars, winning both the Euros and the World Cup with Spain.

Eric García reinvented himself and became a leader at Barcelona.

You know what really annoys me?

The same people panicking about Madrid's signings right now and saying we need to make our own signings or they'll destroy us next season are the exact same ones who, if Flick wins La Liga next season, will try to downplay it by saying La Liga is easy, Madrid were poor, and only the Champions League matters.

Some people are hypocrites, to be honest.

This is the only time in Lamine Yamal’s career that he has actually benefited from the system in achieving a major trophy rather than carrying it himself—and suddenly the entire narrative has changed.

Where were all these people when he was producing performances that only Messi and Neymar had delivered in the Champions League throughout the season? Back then, they claimed players like Doué, Olise, Kvaratskhelia, and Dembélé were better simply because they had won trophies while he hadn’t.

Now that Lamine has finally won a major title—even without being the main reason behind it—they’ve suddenly decided that individual performances no longer matter. Spain, like any successful team, is a well-drilled system that naturally limits individual freedom for the benefit of the collective, yet they’re using that against him simply because he has now won a trophy, even if he’s a far better player than all of them.
