We are very sad to share that Professor Heidy Mader passed away on 22 December. She was an outstanding interdisciplinary volcanologist, colleague, mentor and champion of postgraduate students. Our condolences to her family, friends, colleagues and past and current students.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Prof. Heidy Mader. As renowned in glaciology as volcanology, a true polymath and an extremely talented Dean. I'll miss her calm head, her leadership (from the front) and her encyclopaedic knowledge of the university. Happy trails Heidy.
