Some thoughts from this evening... In my decade+ of volunteering and advocacy work (wow, time flies!), I've learned that good leaders are not always those giving speeches & attending events on behalf of an organization. 1/2
Today I was asked about the City of Ottawa’s decision to cancel its Israel Independence Day ceremony. It was a bad decision that should be reversed. Please watch my response.
As of February 29, 2024 at 11:30 PM EST, Mexican citizens will need a visa to enter Canada unless they meet certain criteria. Most existing electronic travel authorizations (eTAs) for Mexican passport holders are being cancelled.
Biden/Trump rushing to outdo each other with fervor to shut down US/Mexico border. Canada imposing visas for Mexicans seeking to come here. A grim day for access to refugee protection in North America. https://t.co/UV5K73ED2X
The province used to cover 50% of municipal transit operating funds, until the Harris govt. Time to restore permanent operational funding for good transit. A campaign worth signing 👇
Leaders often operate behind the scenes, ensuring the seamless functioning of the org, where all members are acknowledged & supported. They cultivate an environment that values ALL voices, practice kindness & remind us of the mission amidst the allure of shiny distractions. 2/2

Great take by @JenBotterill Go Botterill! 👏🏼Too bad/sad for the people leaving misogynistic comments that can’t see the value in not glorifying violence on this nice sport.

Ottawa transit has a design problem that gets confused for a demand problem.
When people don't use slow, late, circuitous, infrequent bus routes it's not because they love driving.
It's because the city makes transit suck then cuts it when it doesn't work.
@iamIqraKhalid Sorry that your message is being misinterpreted. I am a jew & condemn Hamas; but I also recognize the need to protect Palestinian civilians (all civilians!). Your message is not antisemitic, it speaks to Jewish values! All Canadian MPs should be calling for Isreal to abide by IHL
The acts of terror by Hamas remain horrifying. “However, they cannot justify the starvation of a civilian population. The Israeli gov must let food, water, & other essentials into Gaza.” Allies to #Israel should use whatever leverage to insist that it do so. Protect civilians!👇🏼
An analysis of war crimes law that applies both to Hamas's atrocities on 7/10 and to the cutting off food and other essential sustenance to Gaza's civilian population.

Canada unequivocally condemns the multi-front terror attack against Israeli citizens by Hamas.
Canada firmly stands with Israel and its right to defend itself against terror under international law. My heart is with the victims and all those affected by these attacks.
