$200 gets you a one way on @SouthwestAir scum class to Boomerville, FL. Thanks, assholes, for lobbying against high-speed rail in Texas, back in the 80's.
When it's not the Republican party sending our tax dollars away from infrastructure to you know who, the Democrat party plays performative politics to build jack nothing.
Illinois, the spiritual home of the American railroad, signed the Paris Agreement. Its latest climate plan mentions the word “train” exactly zero times.

@nickroberts317 This would be cool Nick. Unfortunately, our Congress is retarded, so nothing like this will happen. They even banned building street cars in Indy. The state that had the largest interurban and street car network, the first Union Station, and we can't get high speed rail.
Add to the fact that the entire generation propping up Florida's real estate values are about to mass exodus to the big Margaritaville in Hell in the next 15 years and it's a world of hurt. Florida MUST adapt to new industries for the sake of its families' futures.
Florida’s entire housing boom was built on one thing:
People moving there.
That engine just collapsed.
Net domestic migration:
2022: 310,892
2025: 22,517
Down 93%.
Now combine that with:
record inventory
condo distress
insurance spikes
builder oversupply
This is not the same Florida market anymore.
Reminder that this bridge is 160 years old and the last major reconstruction was in 1906. We live on the bones of a better nation due to the fact that the stuff built by Americans before the Boomers is even outlasting them.
@uncledoomer "It's not X it's Y" is the most overused slop phrase. You can tell the bulk of all AI's rhetoric and syntax training came from the cesspool of Reddit.
@tomaskenn Waymo: "What if we throw in self-driving cars that every city we've ever been in hates to ruin traffic and not actually fix the problem of moving people?"
Miami-Dade: "Sounds mucho retarded - I'm in!"
