@ThomasJCarcetti Up here in ME we've seen Mills campaign. She is a good governor but a bad campaigner. Her last election she won against the despised LePage (who never won a majority of voters), not the still-popular Collins. She would have lost. Zero doubt.

@Wilson__Valdez Platner is correctly saying that most elected Dems DO NOT WANT healthcare (they want "the OPPORTUNITY for healthcare" meaning if you can pay for it, you get it; they say this phrase ALL THE TIME). If it were JUST Republicans we'd have had it long ago.

Collins is the current senator, bad record on race, usually votes with the GOP majority. Platner is very likely to be the next senator (will beat Mills in primary UNLESS there's a revelation WORSE than "Nazi tattoo" and maybe even then) and has a good chance of beating Collins.

@NilesGApol She lost because she was largely unknown to the general public, who pay no attention to vice presidents. She had a truncated campaign and was competing against a Brand Name that many people, bafflingly, still believed was a Great Businessman. Nothing else.
