[African Union Political Affairs Peace and Security @AUC_PAPS]

Lors du 5e Dialogue Continental sur la Jeunesse, la Paix et la Sécurité à Bujumbura, #Burundi, Amina Bello, Ambassadrice Africaine de la Jeunesse pour la Paix (AYAP) 4e Cohorte @AU_AYAPs, représentant l'Afrique Centrale, a présenté l'état de mise en œuvre de l'Agenda JPS dans sa région.

Elle a souligné que trois pays ont déjà validé leur Plan d'Action National JPS la RDC, le Burundi et le Cameroun et que le Président de la République Centrafricaine a exprimé son soutien à cet agenda, envoyant un signal fort pour toute la région.
Elle a identifié trois défis majeurs : l'absence de PAN JPS dans 7 pays sur 10, le manque de financement durable, et la fragmentation de la coordination entre les acteurs régionaux.

En réponse, elle a soumis trois recommandations : accélérer l'adoption des PAN JPS avec l'appui de l'UA et de la CEEAC, créer un mécanisme de financement régional stable, et renforcer la coordination entre institutions, gouvernements, société civile et jeunes.
Elle a conclu avec ces mots :
« La paix en Afrique Centrale se construira avec les jeunes et non sans eux. »

Ms. Amina Bello (@AminaBelloAYAP), @AU_AYAPs for the Central Africa Region, was received in audience by H.E. Faustin-Archange Touadéra, the President of the Central African Republic 🇨🇫, to officially present her appointment as the African Union Youth Ambassador for Peace (AYAP) for Central Africa.

She presented her mandate, the key priorities of her work plan, and the African Union's vision under the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Agenda. She also reaffirmed the African Union's commitment to supporting the Government of the Central African Republic in advancing peace, meaningful youth participation, and conflict prevention.

H.E. the President welcomed the initiative and expressed his full support for her mandate, working closely with relevant ministries to implement national activities under her mandate.

The meeting represents an important step toward strengthening collaboration between the African Union and national authorities to advance the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda in the Central African Republic.

The @_africanunion Youth4Peace (Y4P) Africa program, in collaboration with SADC, @ACCORD_online and @issafrica successfully convened the Coordination Meeting with RECs/RMs on the implementation of the Continental Framework on Youth, Peace and Security in Gaborone, Botswana. The meeting brought together representatives from the AU, RECs/RMs, African Youth Ambassadors for Peace (AYAPs), WiseYouth Co-Chairs, and strategic partners to review regional progress and priorities, share best practices, identify common challenges, and strengthen collaboration toward advancing the #YPS agenda across Africa.
