Tour of Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital’s Transformation – 8 Months of Progress 🚧

Yesterday, my boss, @walipikin, the Chief Project Manager for the expansion, remodeling, and equipping of Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, took me on a tour of the remarkable progress made over the last eight months.

We visited: The new Radiology Complex, Obstetrics & Gynecology (O&G) Centre, New Laboratory Complex and Patient Relaxation Arena

The facility now houses modern MRI, CT Scan, X-ray, and Mammography machines, significant upgrades made possible through the state’s investment .

Hospital transformations include:

1.Expansion & Renovation
•New facilities built
•Doctors’ residential quarters completed including two- and three-bedroom semi‑detached units and a suitable residence for the Chief Medical Director.

2.Strategic Healthcare Goals
•Project flagged off in June 2024 to upgrade the facility into a teaching hospital for Zamfara State University.
•These renovations follow the state-wide health emergency declaration and aim to address inherited infrastructural deficits.

Governor Dauda Lawal’s leadership is driving these rapid improvements. As part of the state-of-the‑art overhaul, Yariman Bakura is being positioned to offer specialized care, host residency training, and support academic research.
