@shadwhite Even studies that suggest small + effects show this isn't the case in mostly Black cities like JXN. There, more cops don't reduce homicides but instead lead to more low-level arrests of Black people, causing more incarceration & breaking up families that you purport to care about

@shadwhite This is just not true. There's tons of research that shows more police does not equal more public safety. See this article citing a study by a group of criminologists of 62 earlier studies over 40 years and concluding there is a small negative effect.

BREAKING: Louisiana's Legislature has approved a new congressional map that adds a second majority-Black district with boundaries stretching from Baton Rouge to Alexandria to Shreveport.
