Few generations ago - cars, home appliances, electronic gadgets were luxuries. Clean air, water, green spaces were (a given) necessities. Now - things considered as luxuries in the past are necessities & clean air, water, greenery are luxuries. Is this progress? #FoodForThought
@caleb_friesen Every black spot same story. We complain, it gets cleaned & the next day pile up starts again. Repeat. Keeping city clean is a two way street. Citizens need to stop this mindless dumping wherever they please & authorities need traceable system & fines for waste dumping everyday.
Never ever judge someone’s intellect by their ability to speak. psychological research shows that complex conceptual thinking often overloads working memory, creating a gap between deep thought and verbal expression. a quiet or clumsy explanation isn't a sign of low intelligence. it's just a mind moving faster than words can follow.
Planting millions of trees in neat rows can restore tree cover, but it doesn’t recreate a forest. A real forest is a messy web of different species, dead wood, fungi, insects, wildlife and soil built over generations.
The easiest trend to start online - #boycott - from place to person to brand to restaurant to movies - fits on anything & everything. Funny how everyday there’s something worth boycotting! 😬

Navi Mumbai Success Story
From Textile Waste to New Possibilities
What happens when a discarded textile gets a second chance?
In Navi Mumbai, a pilot project led by the Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, is creating a structured pathway for post-consumer textile waste, from collection and AI-enabled fibre identification to sorting, upcycling, recycling and market linkages.
The initiative is not only giving discarded textiles a new life, but also creating skills, livelihoods and opportunities for communities.
From waste to value.
From discarded textiles to new possibilities.
Building a more circular textile future.

Yes, India achieved the first soft landing near the Moon’s south pole with Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander in August 2023 at about 69°S. The US followed with commercial Intuitive Machines landers: Odysseus (IM-1) in 2024 at 80°S and Athena (IM-2) in 2025 even closer, the southernmost so far. China’s Chang’e-7 aims to land nearer still, launching soon.
Removing friction is how rich people end up losing agency and human IQ
It starts with Uber-everywhere, grocery delivery, all-inclusive holidays, then private driver, chef, assistant etc… without noticing you’re also removing exposure to reality
I see this in London with young ambitious professionals aka HENRYs (High Earners Not Rich Yet) trying to remove every tiny friction from life so they can focus on work + gym + sleep + money, while forgetting that a lot of the “inefficient” shit they’re deleting (cooking, walking somewhere, random talks etc) is also just… being a human in your 20s/30s
The thing is you’re not only saving time, you’re removing thousands of tiny reps of dealing with the world. Finding the place, fixing the booking, working out what to do when the train gets cancelled, asking someone for help, improvising because the plan is fucked. None of these makes you smarter on its own, but remove basically all of them for 10 years and I’d be surprised if it has zero effect. You can become incredibly high-agency at work while weirdly low-agency at normal life
It’s why so many high-agency rich people are deliberately paying to add friction back into their lives (difficult travel, long treks, sailing, marathons, remote places, silent retreats, climbing mountains, etc). They’ve understood that once comfort is abundant, difficulty becomes scarce. The luxury good eventually becomes optional hardship. The distinction is agency. Being forced to walk 10km because your car broke down sucks. Choosing to hike 20km in Patagonia feels meaningful
The way I think about it personally is just aggressively remove boring / repetitive friction, while keeping a decent amount of unpredictable friction. I’ll happily pay more for the direct flight, live centrally to kill a commute, outsource cleaning/admin, take the Uber if it genuinely saves 40 mins. A 15-min annoyance x300 a year is actually expensive. There is absolutely no hidden life lesson in doing your laundry for the 800th time or spending 2h getting somewhere you could reach in 30 mins
Think the objective of wealth shouldn’t be zero friction, but simply choosing your friction. Basically removing all the boring shit so you can expose yourself to more of the interesting stuff
You can zoom out far enough and realize we’re billions of little organisms on a rock, inventing governments, money, status, rules, then spending our lives taking all of it incredibly seriously.
Then five minutes later you’re staring at your phone because some random person replied to you.
And somewhere between me writing this and you reading it, a machine is quietly deciding whether this sentence ever reaches you.
We can see the madness and still be completely inside it.
That’s the weirdly beautiful part.
Two scientists, a fluid mechanics PhD and a nanomaterials fellow, building membrane chemistry that only 3 other companies on Earth can do, sitting quietly in a 20MW pilot plant in Bengaluru while the world argues about whether green hydrogen will ever be commercially real.
A few might be thinking what is Green Hydrogen?
Green hydrogen is nothing but hydrogen made by splitting water using renewable electricity instead of fossil gas. It is one of the few credible paths to decarbonizing steel, fertilizer, shipping, and heavy industry.
But the electrolysers that do this splitting have a dirty secret: the membranes inside them need to be highly selective for ions while staying chemically stable, which makes them expensive to manufacture and most designs lean on rare earth metals and complex materials that keep costs stubbornly high.
This is the actual reason green hydrogen has stayed a subsidy dependent science project instead of a real industry.
To solve this exact problem Newtrace was born 5 years ago.
2 people, real scientific depth, not repackaged engineers, Prasanta Sarkar holds a PhD in fluid mechanics from Université Grenoble Alpes, and Rochan Sinha is a J.N. Tata fellow with a background in nanomaterials and electrochemistry, both having cut their teeth in renewable energy systems in Europe before coming back to build this in India.
They rebuilt the electrode and membrane chemistry from scratch. The manufacturing costs cut by ~30%, with the rare earth metals eliminated entirely from the process.
Newtrace has a near-commercial prototype running and operates a 20MW pilot facility, and is building toward 1MW electrolyser systems today, scaling to 10MW by 2027.
They have raised $1M pre seed in 2022 led by Speciale Invest and Micelio Fund, then $5.6M seed in 2023 and most recently $6.3M raised specifically to commercialize their electrolyser electrode technology and push down green hydrogen production costs further.
Peak XV Partners and Aavishkaar Capital are in the cap table, serious climate tech literate money, not just government grant chasers.
Why this matters for Bharat......
- Steel, fertilizer, and shipping are exactly the industries where Bharat cannot simply "go electric", they need actual clean hydrogen as an input, not just clean power.
- Every electrolyser India imports today is a strategic dependency, the same story as solar cells and semiconductors before this.
If Newtrace's cost down chemistry scales, Bharat will build exportable IP in the one segment (electrode/membrane tech) that is genuinely defensible and globally scarce, at a moment when the government's own National Green Hydrogen Mission and rare earth corridor push are explicitly trying to create exactly this kind of domestic deeptech champion. 🙏🙏

i made a website where you can watch India being built, live.
every day, things are being built, launched, discovered and improved across the country. I wanted one place where you could actually see all of it happening.
happy independence day 🇮🇳

I just want you to remember. That we live in a world where octopuses dream, otters have a favorite shell that they carry with them all their lives, cows have best friends, and bees have different "dialects" of dance depending on the region. Cats purr at a frequency that accelerates bone healing, the forest grows flowers first after a fire, and dolphins give each other names and respond to them. Penguins make proposals by giving each other the most beautiful pebble
Seven children. One childhood game. One international gold for India.
From Mumbai’s underserved communities to the international podium, these young Box Langadi athletes have turned playtime into a sporting dream.
After winning district and national-level competitions, they represented India at the Asian Box Langadi International Championship in Nepal and returned with gold.
But getting there wasn’t easy. Travel, accommodation, shoes and essentials were made possible because people chose to support their journey.
Now, they have another chance to make India proud.
The seven athletes are set to compete at an upcoming international championship in Thailand, but need financial support for travel, training and competition expenses.

Teach your children that they need nothing exterior to themselves to be happy - no person, place, or thing - and that true happiness is found within. Teach them that they are sufficient unto themselves.
