Pretend that everything you teach is inherently fascinating, regardless of your real opinion or the opinions you suspect the class might have.

Part of planning well is working out what makes something - anything - potentially interesting.

This probably sounds obvious. But I've seen loads of lessons where teachers say (or imply) something like, "I know the rainforest isn't the most interesting thing in the world..."

Today, the rainforest *is* the most interesting thing in the world.

Because that's our job.
