@briansimasiku Yet employment statistics is a better indicator of the economy. Far more than inflation, Gross Domestic Product or percentage the economy has grown in a given period.
Higher employment rate means more spend (buying of goods and services) and higher contributions to tax revenue.

Young voters are a significant portion of the electorate. Address their concerns, such as education, employment, and technology. Engage with them on platforms they frequent and show that you are invested in their future.

@ssishuwa Indeed, the right to free speech would be meaningless if it remained unused.

[HAMULEKWA @AmosHamule6182]

@ShiMutale98 It's you people in urban areas that crisscross radio stations confusing us villagers with your explanations. We know better, go look at your graphs for past years. You will see that the Kwacha appreciates from June upto September, and then depreciates from November on wards.

@SouthernSorghum @KMusakanya @ChipoyiKelvin @SorgGuy @madamsorghum @GeorgeAll Do you sell sorghum seed? I want some for the next farming season.

[HAMULEKWA @AmosHamule6182]

@LauraMiti Ba Laura Miti, two weeks or so ago you said money for work and food for work programmes were helping alleviate hunger in rural areas. How wrong you were!
I live in a rural area, I invite you to come and see the reality - hunger.

@Kak3ya Advise which instruments I should invest in.

[HAMULEKWA @AmosHamule6182]

@DiggersOfNews Sometimes I wonder what sort of leaders we have in Zambia.
When will our political leaders stop insulting former President Edgar C Lungu, and get down to the serious business of developing the country?

[HAMULEKWA @AmosHamule6182]

@KingCH3310 Hmmm. I bought a leather belt at K160 along Chachacha road in Lusaka. It has two colours and can be worn on both sides.

[HAMULEKWA @AmosHamule6182]

@LauraMiti Where I come from, we say "Wabweza busi mulilo usiya." The main thrust of Prof. Sishuwa, if you read without biasness, is not the tribe connection. But the challenges of fighting corruption in Zambia.

[HAMULEKWA @AmosHamule6182]

@chiluwambewe I gave up asking for a refund from Dr Walubita Siyanga. I paid a total of K600 (K350 + K250) for two trainings. The man missed me on both trainings. Eventually, the trainings were discarded.
For three weeks I made numerous calls, spoke to four different persons, to no avail.

The staggering transformation of Nairobi as Lusaka sleeps

The ride from KK International Airport through Great East Road into Lusaka city, is a sad and emotional experience. You are assaulted by the stagnation, the decay, the failure, the lack of vision, and above all, the missed opportunities of the last 30 years. There is no other way of putting it other than to say Lusaka hardly qualifies as a city. The assault is harder when coming from Kenya or Ethiopia.

The first time I went to Nairobi was in 2004; nothing stood out, it felt and looked like Lusaka. I went back c2013, it looked and felt different; the energy was palpable. Today, Nairobi is on a different level. The amount of development, infrastructure, and industry is staggering. Kenya is on a path, in fact, the whole of East Africa, of unprecedented economic development.

Southern Africa, once a preferred region has been overtaken. Not even South Africa has developed at the same pace as #Kenya in the last 15 years.

The quality of housing, new neighborhoods, industries, roads, and the brand #MadeinKenya, owned wholly by black Kenyans is another level. Kenyans, I have been told (and it shows), always invest their money, even stolen public funds, at home (not offshore accounts). This way, one can argue that the population still benefits from what was stolen through jobs and world class infrastructure.

Addis, 20 years ago, when I first went there, felt like a big rubble. Anyone who has been frequenting or transiting through Addis in the last two decades can testify to its breathtaking transformation. I worked between Lusaka and Addis for seven years. The Ethiopian train has left us brethren. I have not been back to Tanzania in years, but I am told it's a country in rapid transformation.

In comparison, just look at GER, The only visible transformation is the number of Borehole Drilling Companies: I counted 40 from Chelston to Cairo Road. At night, driving in the pitch black airport road is like driving into the heart of darkness itself.

East Africa, led by Nairobi, is now Africa's promised land (forget SA). Its the most sort after hubs for international and silicon valley companies, and subsequently, one of the most competitive places to land a job. This was not the case ten years ago. Kenyans, from their sheer industriousness, love are transforming their country and themselves. More international companies means more money in the economy, more skills, more jobs, more everything.

Kenyans they say, can't see an idle piece of land without wanting to do something about it. Years ago, my young sister connected me to a Kenyan who had barely arrived in Lusaka to work for an international and was already renting idle land to plant maize. I recently connected a colleague to a fertilizer contact in Lusaka. One of the most sought-after fertilizers in Kenya is made in Zambia (by the way).

Kenya still has many problems, just like Zambia, but they are playing a far different game from Zambia in every possible sector from the economy, arts, media, to culture, and even the quality of discourse is another level. Read a Kenyan newspaper, the quality of writing, depth, arguments and intellectualism is nothing to the raw deal we are fed here. I belong to a WhatsApp group of Zambian International professionals, our overwhelming discourse daily is politics, tribal divisive politics. A similar group by Kenyans is mainly about pooling funds, investments and building new housing complexes, buying shares in new hotels and coffee estates (with political differences but aside). The famous multi-million dollar renaissance dam in #Ethiopia has been financed by Ethiopia diaspora.

Frankly, I don't see how Zambia will ever catch up.

@Temba_GM Wonderful history.

[HAMULEKWA @AmosHamule6182]

@KayaKatwishi I did my national service near this Falls. As adventurous young men we use to go to this place. All that you have written about Chishimba Falls is what we were told and experienced.
Just a small addition, there are equally fascinating rapids high up the same river.

Every night, the BBC dutifully presents the Weather report at 18:26 hours for the Indian subcontinent. Is that not wrong timing? India is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of GMT. At 18:26 hrs GMT Indians are fast asleep to watch the weather, as it is midnight there.
