Ahead of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's birthday, one truth must be made clear:
Only the Gaden Phodrang Trust has the authority to recognize the next Dalai Lama. No one else has any right to interfere.
This is a clear rejection of the Chinese Communist Party's attempt to manufacture its own Dalai Lama and tighten its grip on Tibet. Beijing may occupy Tibet, but it cannot dictate the Tibetan people's faith, rewrite their spiritual traditions, or appoint their religious leader.
The world must reject any CCP-appointed Dalai Lama as illegitimate.

The Central Tibetan Administration, on behalf of the Tibetan diaspora, respectfully offers its heartfelt birthday greetings to His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet on the occasion of His 91st birthday, with sincere prayers for His continued good health, long life, and boundless compassion to benefit all sentient beings. #DalaiLama #BirthAnniversary #Birthday
Why are Tibetans burning themselves? A piece i wrote some years ago: "sense of the “impossibility of making a meaningful life.” This impossibility is the root cause of the self-immolations in Tibet today". #Tibet#selfimmolation#China

💯 was talking to a relative and he said the surveillance is present even at top of hills/mountains where small numbers of locals gather to fly prayer flags and burn incense. They’re raiding homes of gov workers for any shrine. The control is unprecedented and simply awful.
@jinwang69489102 Even in death, these 🫵 people can’t respect a Tibetan person’s pov.
No one should be expecting any truth from people who lack critical thinking, who has never interacted with any real Tibetan about their very real grievances.
@shangguanluan You’re making up your own story for whatever reason. This particular self immolator has clearly stated that he’s sacrificing himself for Tibet’s cause. Full stop. He isn’t struggling in anything else. He clearly said that himself. You shouldn’t be assuming things sigh
it's pretty clear that a lot of western "leftists" don't view tibetans as humans with agency, are deeply ignorant of what the modern tibet movement is like, don't understand that it's not a monolith, and aren't willing to contend with the ideological plurality that exists in it
I’m seeing a swarm of CCP trolls flooding responses to the self-immolation at the UN, repeating the same old lie about how the CCP has improved the lives of millions of Tibetans. Such a farce in the face of such a tragedy. The CCP is out of tools.
As a journalist, over the last 17 years, I met him, saw him, and heard him in personal friend circles and during various Tibetan campaigns across the USA, including hunger strikes. His name is Lobsang Paldhen, and on social media, he went by Lobga Rangzen. The name Rangzen (རང་བཙན་) means “Independence” in English, and he passionately represented his views and dreams online.
When I first heard the news, I was shaking and couldn’t write anything. A mutual friend called me from the hospital to inform me that he had died. It was hard to accept such a feeling — a feeling of blankness, or not knowing what to do. This was reminiscent of the emotions I experienced from 2009 to 2022 during the self-immolations in Tibet. The news was shocking and sad, particularly because I knew him personally. Like many Tibetans, he was very friendly and kind, always smiling at everyone. He had a warm heart and a lovely personality.

@IntelShadowOp Stop impersonating a Tibetan. You are not a Tibetan, refugee or else. period. Your posts are being reported by others because you are spreading racism.
