Speaking at the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, Ms. Manmeet Kaur Nanda, Additional Secretary, #DEPwd, highlighted the importance of building an inclusive AI ecosystem during the panel discussion on Inclusive AI for Disability Inclusion: Global Lessons on Accessibility by Design.

She underscored that artificial intelligence must be designed for everyone and called for a structured, collaborative ecosystem to ensure its equitable development. She noted that #DEPwD is actively working with multiple AI-focused startups, while its National Institutes are advancing research and innovation in the field. She cited the work of @NIEPID in developing the Indian Test of Intelligence as an example of indigenous technological progress.

Emphasizing sustainability, Ms. Nanda stressed that India’s AI models must be affordable, practical, and accessible so that persons with disabilities, including those in rural areas, can benefit equally. With smartphones now widely used, she called for AI solutions that are within everyone’s reach and truly inclusive.

To spread awareness and promote inclusivity for all, Shri @sanjayjavin, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL) along with Shri Rajesh Agarwal, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities flagged off the ‘Walk for Dyslexia’, which included more than 300 persons.

Shri Sanjay Kumar emphasised the importance of creating awareness and acceptance around Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs), marking, “Every child learns differently. Dyslexia is not a limitation but a different way of understanding and expressing knowledge. With early identification, support, and empathy, children with Dyslexia can achieve remarkable success.” He also underlined the role of PRASHAST 2.0, a mobile app-based screening tool that helps schools identify children with disabilities at an early stage.

#Walk4Dyslexia was co-organized by ChangeInkk Foundation, UNESCO MGEIP, Orkids Foundation and Soch Foundation. Keeping the colour of the walk as red for Dyslexia Awareness, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Secretariat, along with several other historical monuments and government buildings across the country were illuminated in red on Sunday evening.

एनसीईआरटी ने ��पने #SWAYAM पोर्टल पर 11वीं और 12वीं कक्षा के विद्यार्थियों की बोर्ड परीक्षा की मुफ्त तैयारी कराने की पहल की है। इसके तहत इकोनॉमिक्स, केमिस्ट्री, मैथ्स और अन्य मुख्य विषयों की तैयारी कराई जाएगी। इसके लिए विद्यार्थियों को पहले रजिस्ट्रेशन कराना होगा, जो 22 सितंबर से शुरू होंगे।
