Saw Spirits in the Forest tonight and then was given an extra special treat when I randomly got to meet Peter Gordeno of @depechemode who was also there in the cinema watching it too!! Star struck is an understatement!! 🤩 #DepecheMode#SpiritsInTheForest#PeterGordeno
Normalize creating distance when you know someone's been speaking negatively about you. You don't have to keep showing up with a smile just to "keep the peace" while someone is comfortable disrespecting you behind closed doors. If someone chose to speak on you, let them stand on it. You're not obligated to be extra cordial to people who haven't been genuine with you.
whats also so bad about a heatwave this severe and EARLY in the year is that we have roughly 5 hours without sun so houses have no time to properly cool down (nvm the fact that it doesn’t go below 20 at night either) and the brick stores ALL the heat from the day
How are there people still telling themselves it’s normal for it to be this hot in the uk? I’m 32 I’ve never experienced a summer like this for my entire life.
I'm not toxic. I'm reactive. There's a person somewhere calling me difficult, and they're leaving out the part where they pushed every boundary I set, ignored every signal I gave, and then acted shocked when I finally stopped being gentle about it.
Anyone who's never experienced a heatwave in the UK thinks we're over reacting when we say how hot it is. It's not the same as other countries. The humidity is high and our houses are designed to keep the heat in. Our houses basically become air fryers and we don't have air con.
I’ve met people who barely talk about God but treat others with love, and I’ve met people who never miss church but don’t know how to treat people right.
Maybe I was young so I’m remembering incorrectly but I swear prior to 2015 it would rarely even hit 30, like 25 was considered a crazy hot summer, now every summer it hits low 30s regularly and we see mid-high 30s every 2/3 years
We’re told to carpool into work, reduce emissions, reduce plastics etc etc and the BBC are incinerating a hole in the Ozone layer with a helicopter to show footage of a train??
Before non-UK people chime in: our houses are built to retain heat, we don’t have AC and we are simply not built for this. Our houses get hotter than it is outside, but outside is also hot. We don’t have anywhere to stay cool or to be at a reasonable temperature.
This is one of the greatest moments in cinema.
Buzz accepting he is a toy by citing the words Woody told him at the beginning, but showing no disbelief in the miracle he is performing. Breaking the reality he just accepted.
And Woody proudly shouting the mantra of Buzz's original dreams, admiting they aren't ONLY toys. Its just so beautiful.
This is a sign to leave our super-understanding era because sometimes people just take advantage of the kindness that we are giving. I'm so done with being okay with what they are doing and feeling sorry for myself afterward.
