I’m often corrected when I say patient abandonment, but that’s what this truly is. It’s not just losing access to pain meds, it’s losing access to a dr at all. Our country must do better. Getting CPP’s off of their books to lower prescribing.
Chronic, severe or intractable pain should NOT be a death sentence, but the #CDC, #DEA, #PROP, and other #AntiOpioidRxFanatics have been doing their best to deny adequate pain relief to those whose lives depend on it.
As expected this denial of care is killing pain patients.
This is the way we’re treating the chronically ill in this country. I’m hoping state elected officials here in New Hampshire will read, understand, and strive to show the country a better way.

Years ago the anti-opioid zealots repeatedly claimed that prescribing needed to come down to the level it was pre Oxycontin for deaths to come down. Well, last stat I read was we are down to the level it was in 1992. 107k deaths. Yet they still claim there is "overprescribing"
“Why I started advocating for the pain community”.
Bev Schechtman was medically abused by a NC hospitalized. Because of Bev, Narxcare could be banned.

“So while their report aligns with prior data, what is new is that opioid alternative use has not increased, begging the question: are individuals living with chronic pain getting the pain relief they need?” https://t.co/PtVPBWbwMs
What’s the PDMP? NarxCare, the Ruan decision? How to advocate for someone in the hosp? We have all of this and more under FAQ’s on our website. Hope it’s helpful. #cpps#dontpunishpain#spoonie#thedoctorpatientforum https://t.co/XvmYpfUwy0
To those in New Hampshire running for State Senator or State Rep - “No correlation between opioid prescriptions and drug related deaths”. I would add, no correlation to addiction rates either.

@aander1987@obsteve1@quinky_dink Correct. Maggie left this comment days before she passed: "I had tried every therapy, drug and other modalities. My spine is disintegrating and there is no fix for that. I have lived a good and happy life and am at peace with my choice and want to go with dignity and grace."
It doesn’t hurt our org to keep spreading rumors that we charge $375 to advocate for CPP’s. It does, however, hurt patients who we may be able to help. We don’t charge. I hope you’re prepared to advocate for those you persuade to not ask us for help.
