I don’t think I’ve ever been able to accurately explain this phenomenon, but “tolerable level of permanent unhappiness” is something I think way too many women can relate to. And yes, we need to add it to our vocabulary.
When I was young, I always thought Radagast the Brown Wizard was a disappointing character. Now I'm in my 30s, living in the woods, talking to trees, and befriending wild animals seems like a perfectly reasonably way to deal with the end of the world.

@wizpip Yes and also no! Like I said it’s nuanced. To lose weight, yes a calorie deficit is the way; but getting to the heart of overeating is tricky! Genetics also plays a huge part and mental health! I have two eating disorders! One is a symptom of ADHD, the other due to diet culture!
@wizpip ‘Fatties’ like myself don’t necessarily overeat, eat bad etc! The reason someone may be fat or overeat (the two are not mutually exclusive) is extremely nuanced! Also diet success rate long term is extremely low!
