There is no repairing many of the roads in NC from a traditional sense. After watching a good many high quality videos on YouTube this evening, not only will new roads have to be reengineered from scratch (like the old road was never there), but you will likely have to have a full rebuild of all infrastructure in many of these towns.

Idc what anyone says, this disaster is in the trillions and will take a timescale of multiple years to get any sense of normalcy.

Hey everyone we have water back but boil alert. Sections of NE TN and WNC are completely devastated. Roads houses and entire towns just gone or under layers of mud and silt and water.

They got hwy 70 open through Greene county but now N.C. 208 is closed due to tractor trailer accident. This route I have done many times I have been avoiding myself to not be a tourist while it's the only path for survivors to come for food and gas and service and it's not a good road for tractor trailers normally.

Federal response has been inadequate to say the least and there are tons of volunteers helping as much as possible and that road was a lifeline for N.C. residents to come and stock up.

But some truckers just google mapping an alternate route for i26 and i40 coming through there don't need to and they've been turning them back so Id like to know who was up there in a tractor trailer and created this mess on top of everything.

We were out of the path of flooding so we are fine but the area is definitely not fine. This is a heavy burden that just got worse. 2 steps forward 3 steps back

I always that of a McMansion as a large house built on a small lot next to a bunch of other large houses.

Not necessarily that it was poorly built, but that there was a lot of open concept and high ceilings, not for aesthetics or temp regulation, but to save on interior work such as doors, trims, walls, and flooring.
