What is it about Byzantine Christianity that makes it appealing to online people?
If it is simply not being Catholic or Protestant, then why don't we see online Armenian, Syriac, Coptic, or Ethiopian converts in greater numbers?
I don't think an intellectual review of the Council of Chalcedon is part of the equation.
@sadgirlyboss 3. The mission experience produces men who have a minimum competency in cold calling and handling rejection, which are huge advantages in dating.
Not LDS but here is my impression.
1. There is no question of marriage vs. celibacy. Everyone is expected to marry. No holding pattern discernment.
2. Much better social infrastructure. Everyone is expected to participate in parish life, so more opportunity to meet outside of services.
LDS basically have their own state with areas everyone knows where to go in order to find an LDS spouse, unlike Catholics which are mixed into the general population.
It's accepted that LDS universities such as BYU are a place to find a spouse in addition to finding a career.
@restoreorderusa@crusadepepe What was that Arab saying?
I, against my brothers. I and my brothers against my cousins. I and my brothers and my cousins against the world.
Austin Metcalf's murder is particularly salient because almost everyone, regardless of race, has encountered a black person carrying out an antisocial act โ cutting in line, mouthing off, blasting music on the subway, etc. โ which is accompanied by the implicit threat of violence.
In this case, Karmelo Anthony took Austin Metcalf's seat. Karmelo provoked Austin knowing that he was armed โ that if Austin objected, he would just stab him. And that's exactly what happened.
Most people don't want to share a society with people who routinely violate public norms and are prepared to murder anyone who objects. It is a mentality entirely alien to well-to-do people. It isn't a sign of masculinity or being a "bad ass" โ trained fighters, elite soldiers, etc. don't act that way in public.
It obviously isn't all black people who behave this way. But of those who do, most are black. I remember seeing a clip of some lowlife black dude threatening to stab a hipster looking black guy on a train for asking him to turn his music down, so it isn't as if you have to be white to object to this sort of antisocial behavior. But that said, the pattern is unignorable, and you rarely see whites, Asians, or Jews acting like this.
Henry Nowak died the same way a civilization dies: abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit. His murder is as tragic as it is enraging. He should still be alive today, and he would be if the last few generations of European elites had stood their ground against the politics of self-hatred and the mass invasion of migrants, many of whom despise the West and the people who love it.
Henry was far from the first to so needlessly lose his life, and I fear he wonโt be the last. Each time a life like his is lost, the proper responseโthe only responseโis righteous anger. One of the most important things the Trump administration has proven to the world is that stopping the flow of mass migration and defending national sovereignty is a matter of political will and leadership. Anything else is an excuse.
It is because we love the West that we want to preserve it. We love our civilization. We love our country. We love our children. And nobodyโnobodyโshould ever die the way that Henry Nowak died. May God comfort those who loved him, and may God rest his soul.
