Wishing my Jewish roommate Happy Hanukkah doesn't make me Jewish, but calling a man a she makes me a liar. You're asking me to affirm something that's not true. You're asking me to participate in a delusion, at best. At worst, you're asking me to participate in a fetish. As a woman, you're asking me to ignore all of my survival and protective instincts and submit to a man’s feelings.

On his last day in office, Jay Inslee paroled Timothy Pauley who brutally killed three people in a SeaTac bar in 1980. Pauley received three life sentences. Now, he will be released on 3/27/25 and will be living in Bonney Lake, close by relatives of the victims.

This is possibly the worst reporting I’ve seen this year. So many factual errors and biases. Let’s just begin with the OP lead-in: “Before this bill, schools had up to 48 hours to notify parents in certain situations.”

This is false. I-2081 is CURRENT LAW, as of this moment immediate notification is the law. HB1296 sought to erase that and make it up to 48 hours. Republicans proposed an an amendment for immediate notification in committee, all democrats denied it.

Later, the striking amendment on the floor did not contain this language, a Republican amendment for immediate notification was proposed to the striking amendment. It was finally adopted by democrats after a month of national backlash.

So no, before this bill, which is right now, immediate notification is law. This understanding is fundamental to realize how HB 1296 undermines and erodes parents rights—and in many more ways than this one provision.

After many requests, KIRO refuses to correct its article.

Further, KIRO states schools have 45 days now to produce education records. This is false. Again I-2081 is current law. An amendment to HB 1296 returned it to 10 days from the 45 days the bill sought to increase it to.

How do I know? They were my amendments on the house floor! Put this article down and try again. The bias and totally out of context reporting is insulting enough, but the pure factual errors are unconscionable.

So, what is a woman? What the hell do women and trans-identifying men have in common that makes them both women? You're right: no two women are the same. Some of us dress a certain way, some do makeup or not at all, some can have children, and others can't. We’re all different, but we have one thing in common: we’re all female. That’s the common denominator, the foundation if you will. Everything else comes and goes and can change with the times and seasons, but our female bodies remain constant. To call womanhood a concept, an idea is to erase our female bodies and the from-birth experiences that come with it. Womanhood starts and ends with being female. Men, naturally, are not included in that.

Womanhood is the female experience. It’s not a concept or an idea. It’s not something created by and for men, nor is it for men to redefine however they see fit. Transwomen are men. Their rejection of their manhood IS manhood.

Women's roles and expressions evolve across time, places, and cultures, but our being female never changes.
