@Northshore_Supt@fcpsnews@FCPSSupt@RyanLMcElveen#fcps will we have at least a delay tomorrow? Visibility will be bad in the morning! Even if the snow doesn’t stick, it’ll be hard to maneuver through! Actually care about your staff members who live out in Loudoun, WV and MD!
@fcpsnews@FCPSSupt@Northshore_Supt#fcps whomever made the call to come in today made the wrong call! Sidewalks at my school and the parking lots were literal ice rinks! Whomever made this decision doesn’t care at all about students or staff!
@fcpsnews Honestly, middle school will start at 9:30 instead of 7:30. At 7:30 it is predicted to be 13 degrees and at 9:30 it’s predicted to be 18 degrees. Both times with real feel temps in the single digits. What is that going to do? Nothing!
@fcpsnews@FCPSSupt I know @FCPSSupt doesn’t care about the kids. If kids aren’t in school, she can’t send out one of her ridiculously long “weekly reflection,” emails. What’s the next piece of advice for staff, “if you slide on ice, don’t die?” Thanks.
@fcpsnews This is a really unsafe call. 2 hours in the morning isn’t going to melt the refrozen ice when the temps are already below freezing. This is basic science. So many ids have to walk to their bus stops, or to school, on sheets of ice. @FCPSSupt really doesn’t care about the kids.
@invisibleUSian @we3churchgirls @fcpsnews@FCPSSupt “Might,” being the keyword. The sun sets in a little over 2 hours. Whatever is melted will become ice tonight.
@RyanLMcElveen What’s the plan for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17th? The roads and walkways are still icy. With a refreeze tonight of all wet roads. It wouldn’t be safe for new drivers, walkers, and teachers from outside counties driving in.
@ThatMusicTeach1@fcpsnews Sadly, FCPS doesn’t care about teachers or staff. They obviously don’t care about students either. As a staff member, I live in a neighboring county and have to drive over 2 bridges to get to work. FCPS doesn’t care as long as I show up.
@fcpsnews What’s the plan for tomorrow? It’s going to continue to rain throughout the night. Parts of Fairfax County are flooded with fallen trees and limbs in the roads. At least call for a 2 hour delay now and reassess in the morning on if a cancellation is needed.
