@cleferin@pududeer They made us use it at my old job and when I shared my screen once, my boss was like "did you know you can ask it to be more friendly and chat like a friend" and got offended when I said I'd told it to talk professionally 😂
@samsquantchhh@fatfabfeminist Same, my mum was putting me on diets and telling everyone who'd listen how humongous I was when I was still in primary school - looking back at pictures, I was skinny as hell, and really active. Now I struggle a tonne with my weight and can't tell what I really look like
@axiochrono@holly_rosaline It happens a lot though - when I was younger, bar managers used to get you to sign a form saying you waived your right to 11 hours between shifts and your right to breaks. Then we'd argue about the rota because I would point out that you can't really sign away your legal rights
@BernardoEnjoyer@Sandwich_simp@_annatx It's not, it's a shortened version of Mistress which used to be the title adult women were given regardless of being married or not
@RuthvanZalinge Your responses to this should be anonymous, but it's so that HR can analyse the demographics applying to work there and make sure they're not accidentally blocking out certain groups of people
@bethanyshondark@picklejuicencat It also doesn't really matter what it's aimed at, it'll get abused by grandparents who have enough money/time to put into bullying their children/children's spouses
@PAULUSdWUDGNOME@antonerable Majority of public sector jobs pay less than someone can earn in the private sector, so government jobs tend to offer good pensions to attract talent.
i think growing up being a saccharine girly girl who loved the spice girls and britney, the golden age of romcoms and reading what was then pejoratively called “chick lit” was such a blessing bc something i like being panned by critics has never affected my enjoyment of it.
@beastofcornwall@lukerobertblack And salaries are way lower - i work remotely so get a better wage, but i regularly get local recruiters contact me with roles that should be a step up for ~£20k less than I earn now
@001MLP Yes that's why you sometimes hear about vegans trying to treat their cancer with lettuce or juice. Not all vegans are that extreme, but a subset definitely are (my mum falls into this camp and it genuinely concerns me that she'll get a serious illness one day for this reason)
@PlaybookCollect@taydawgfan Same, I've realistically been working above my officially qualified grade for a few years now because I learn quickly and I'm good with people
@drit__ I started getting loads more a few weeks ago, and then got an email from Manchester Airport saying my phone number was part of their data breach, wonder if there have been more breaches that haven't been announced publicly yet
@TheNizAhmed I'm not american but I've had conversations with people I went to school with who say "god they really should have taught us X" and I'll point out that we literally did get taught it but they were busy fucking around instead of paying attention
