Had a wonderful time perusing van Dyck's Italian Sketchbook at the BM. His attention to sartorial detail and the dimensions of the human body is breathtaking. His monkeys are pretty cute too🐒

Managed to catch Sargent and Fashion at @Tate before it closed! Loved seeing garments in dialogue with paintings, and important acknowledgements of the imperial and colonial dimensions of Sargent's portraiture.
