No one is worthy of worship.
I was recently on Ben Sasse’s Not Dead Yet podcast, and man what a great conversation we had. We talked about faith, family, success and so much more. If you don’t know, back in December Ben was diagnosed with stage four metastasized pancreatic cancer and he started this platform to navigate life with his diagnosis. Super proud of this one and being able to chat with two extraordinary guys! Please give this a listen and show your support: https://t.co/lhkWbKhmJe
Sound doctrine never leads anyone to sin, nor does it make anyone immune to temptation.
Nor is sound doctrine an end unto itself; it makes the gospel clear, it exalts and extols Christ, and it holds him out as the only hope for sinners.
We look to him. Always.
Men, I cannot plead with you enough to stand against the normalizing of this kind of behavior.
If someone is sexually aroused by a little girl in a mini-skirt, this is a deviant proclivity and should never be normalized...
Banner of Truth publishing slavers and slavery apologists because their theology is within the bounds of orthodoxy is no better than Banner of Truth publishing abortionists and abortion apologists who are also theologically orthodox.
It is a test, but you're grading it wrong.
We often confuse the system of Christianity (Christendom) with Christ. But no so-called Christian system is truly God’s work unless it is full of truth and love.
Whenever I share with my husband some of the enraging hyper trad-wife stuff I see on the socials, he always points out every couple espousing that stuff has been married less than 10 years.
“They are still dealing in ideals. Life hasn’t hit them with anything yet.”
Don’t get marriage advice from babies.
Gospel Culture:
My bad --> honesty
My good --> humility
Your bad --> forgive
Your good --> honor
Anti-Gospel-Culture:
My bad --> hide
My good --> pride
Your bad --> resent
Your good --> envy
Either culture can exist in a doctrinally orthodox church.
Your union with Christ is what is the most true of you.
Christ and his redemption of you is what's most true.
The Gospel is what's most true.
Christ and all his benefits are what's most true of you.

Though this conversation has centered around mental health, psychology, and the sufficiency of Scripture, I'm realizing there are far bigger issues at play here.
A 🧵
Trauma silences. The Word made flesh returns voice and calls that we speak truth. A single Bible verse will not remedy the effects of violence in a life. It takes time before Scripture’s truths can work their way down into a mind that has been devastated by the evil of abuse.
Since some pseudo-religious dudes are working overtime at being mean today, feels worth saying …
Women:
You are not too much.
You are not a stumbling block.
You are not weak.
You are not bossy.
You are not a threat.
You are not foolish.
Who you are is a gift.
