South Indian states pay the lowest to Doctors compare to rest part of India.

Andhra Pradesh junior doctors (APJUDA) are on strike currently for their extremely low stipend and other basic rights
They asked for around 20% stipend hike but in return what the govt is allegedly offering ?
Only a 3% stipend hike, does the govt think doctors are beggars ?

The Government’s own statement estimates that a 15% hike would cost approximately ₹88 crore annually which is just 0.5% of the ₹16,500-crore Health, Medical & Family Welfare budget but it’s about will power .
Requesting @AndhraPradeshCM @APDeputyCMO to listen to the basic demands of the doctors .

APJUDA issues official counter to the Health Dept's press note (19/08/2026):
• Demand revised from 30% to 20%
(accounting for ~0.5% of the State
Health Budget)
• Proposed 5% & 3% hikes ignore
inflation and the 2-year backlog
• Senior Residents omitted in Govt
communication
• Unaddressed demands:
NMC recruitment norms & 65-year
retirement proposal.

APJUDA remains open to constructive dialogue and urges an immediate meeting with the Hon’ble CM, Dy CM, FM, and Health Minister.
