@arihant0403@appadappajappa Agreed, but you and me don’t decide how people from other countries perceive us. For them, we are as likely to behave in a stereotypical way as small 1% (still large number) of us do.
@arihant0403@appadappajappa It is not being pessimistic, it is a real issue. It is just our large population and our approach that we insist behaving in a certain way, no matter what.
@arihant0403@appadappajappa Things have changed for Indians in recent times(10-12 yrs). A majority Indians do not follow policy of “when in Rome, do as Romans do”. I have seen in Switzerland few years back, n last year in Vienna, in a concert a bunch of Indias wer talking loudly in Hindi n creating nuisance
@Clashfire_ Why circulate such clips and speculate unnecessarily? Short clips like this have an agenda behind them by the person circulating. There’s absolutely nothing wrong in two people having good time in an open gathering.
@dhume@RnaudBertrand India is stuck due to caste and corruption and there is absolutely no hope that it will develop. Rich and political class is just busy amassing wealth by hook or crook.
@ambkcsingh I thought they showed him boarding the aircraft on his departure from India. How can he climb if he had suffered a stroke. Its all simply rumor mongering to get attention.
The Himalayas will always have floods, landslides and earthquakes. We cannot control that. But we can control where we build, how much we build and how much civilisation we build around Himalayas. Nature’s risk is unavoidable. Human stupidity is not.
Why are we continuing with the Kedarnath Ropeway project (raised this many times earlier)? Why do we need one for a pilgrimage? The biggest lesson from the Nepal–Tibet tragedy is this- Stop treating the Himalayas like plains. You cannot develop the Himalayas the way you develop Shanghai or Mumbai. These mountains are young, fragile, seismic and now facing a rapidly changing climate.
@LucasCanasJ Very well said. Hope those responsible are listening. Also, construction of any sorts in flood plains of a river or water body should be strictly prohibited. Especially in south asia, enforcers allow just about anything for money. It is high time it is stopped.
@MrMatthewTodd I guess no one wants to give up wealth creation. Haves want more of it n have-nots need to be lifted up, have a strong reason to create wealth. You cannot tell third world not to grow. Growing n keeping environment in chck at the same time requires money n no wants to invest it.
@Neha_S_Patel I guess this is the reason policy makers and people in such positions needs to be educated. If we elect uneducated people, we can only expect destruction, filth, garbage and broken system everywhere.
